| Barrette? or Latex? bows Hi everyone- I was just wondering from others experience what you prefer for bows the barrette or the latex bands. I purchased a bow for Emmie and it has a two latex bands on it. I am having a really hard time getting it on her without pulling her hair too much because she is squerming around so much. Are the barrettes easier to use? What does everyone prefer? Thanks I appreciate your help.

| Put in a plain latex band first so you can get it just right. Then put either a barrette or a bow with latex bands over that. It will help get it in straighter and hopefully stay in longer. |

| I use both, Nina has very thin hair on her head so basically everything slips off. I purchased these very tiny barretes in walmart that do the job in keeping her hair out og her eyes which tend to get irritated very easy. On Mimi I use latex bands. |

| Sunshine works her bows out within minutes but maybe because her hair is still very short and thin. I think the bows are so cute!

| I do the same as ChloeandJ, I put a latex band in then attach the hair bow or barrette. I like the barrettes best and you can find the french clips at any craft store. Glue them on your bows after you use your latex band or cut off the bands and glue them on. They last longer I think and instead of paying the extra dollar for a bow with a barrette back you can get a whole bag for 2 bucks |

| A very good friend from the USA kindly sent me some including the small "crab type" ones and I find that these are ideal for my two plus little "Barbie" barrettes for Gizzie as her hair is so fine. Ana xx |

| Maggie is a Maggot too, when it comes to hair-dos. I use tiny latex bands first. As soon as I get her hair up, then I cover the band with a child's clam clip. I haven't started using bows yet. I tried, but they won't stay in. I talked to her groomer and she said to put the hair up first with the first band, then put the bow in with the second band. She said they stay in for sure that way. Maggie had squinty eyes the other day, when I put her hair up too tight.

--- I like to use barrettes too. I put in a band to get her hair up the put the barrette over the top. I've found that I like the alligator barrettes the best. I won't put it around the entire top know I'll stick it through the middle and she seems to not be able ot get it out as easy, plus I think they are easier to put in than the french barrettes. I don't have many bows with the alligator clips though.
