| [News] Wichita Family Finds Their Yorkie Beaten To Death A Wichita family found their pet beaten to death in their own backyard. With no suspect in sight, a dog's death could go unpunished. Now the family wants your help to catch the person responsible for a vicious case of animal cruelty. Even if the dog's killer is found, weeks could make the difference between a slap on the wrist and felony charges. The crime happening just two months before the state's animal cruelty bill officially becomes law. "I feel like they cut my heart out," said Rita Larcade. "All I wanted to do was take him the vet." Rita Larcade is grieving for her four-year-old Yorkie, Hank, a small dog who was beaten to death around lunch time on Monday. Larcade's daughter, Lola Tracy, found the the dog with his tiny head smashed open. "The right side of his face was shoved into the ground," said Tracy. "I literally had to dig him out with my fingers. I rolled him over, and he was bloody on one side." A hammer was found on the other side of the fence with the dog's blood on it. Hank was rushed to the vet where he later died. Larcade and Tracy say they called Wichita Police to report the crime, but were referred to animal control. KAKE News called police who told us that was an error, and they would investigate the crime if the owners still wanted to file a report. On Thursday, Governor Sebelius will formally sign Magnum's law, which will provide stiffer penalties to anybody who abuses or intentionlly kills an animal. It will go into effect July 1. Larcade and Tracy say they don't know who could have done something like this to a dog as small and harmless as Hank. They buried him in the backyard under one of his favorite shade trees. http://www.kake.com/news/headlines/2696096.html |

| OMG!! That is my city!! I never heard that story on the news either! That is just horrible!!! How can someone do that to an animal let alone a tiny harmless one?? It just makes you wonder if someone can do that to a live animal, maybe they could do that to a human! And if that dog didn't die till it got to the vet then you know it suffered.

| That is so sick. My heart just breaks for those folks. I can't imagine any thing on this earth that was human who could do such a cruel thing to one of these precious animals. May they burn in hell.......And may that baby rest in peace. There has to be justice at the end for such evil trash. I don't know how my God would not let this go without punishment.

| poor baby I never left my yorkie in the back yard by himself. I would go crazy on my husband if he left him out of his sight for one minute. He thought I was so protected over my TJ, but when I hear all these stories about people taking dogs out of yards or being hurt. I felt I could not trust anyone. We never went on vacation because I was so protected of him. I didnt think anyone else will watch him or care for him the way I did. I did give him to my Vet to take care of him once when I went on vacation. I do miss him and my husband really miss him too. Last week it was TJ birthday April 23 and my husband said do you know what today is. I said yes he got so upset. I really cannt wait to get anyother little guy. Hanna In July will be getting a little guy again. |

| OMG, I can't believe the sickos out there. That post made me cry. Poor baby. Rest in peace little one. Only four months, Vash is four months. That breaks my heart. No animal should be subjected to such torture. I'd probably go on a killing spree to find out who did that to my baby. That's so horrible.
