| ![]() I cannot believe people. If you're going to be cruel to your animals, then don't get an animal at all. This story is just heartbreaking. |

| ![]() there is a woman here who said her dog was old and ill and decided she couldn't take it anymore because she was vomiting and defecating in the house. So, she took some Xanax and gave 6 of them to her dog, hoping to poison it so it would die. When that didn't work, she gave it some more, and when that didn't work, the b&^% dug a hole and shot it 6 times with a .22 cal handgun. She told us she couldn't afford to have the dog euthanized. How about pawning the damn gun and the bullets to get enough to do it humanely? How about calling the vet and letting them know you can't afford the fee right now and pay them later? All the vbets in the area said they would have accomodated her. And you know what? The damn district attorney let her off. LET HER OFF. I hate my job, but I will do what I can to protect the innocent. She had the NERVE to come in wanting her gun back!!!!!!! What planet are we on????? |

OMG! What is this world coming to? There are so many places to take your pet if you cannot afford to take care of it. This is so stupid. I just hate hearing stuff like this. I read them, and look at my babies, and think, How could someone do this???? I have 5 dogs, and I knew when I got them all, It meant Vet bills, food, shots, flea treatment, heardguard, etc, etc. It is my responsibility. I got the dogs, and it's up to me to take care of them. If for some reason I couldn't care for my animals, I do know what to do, where to take them, etc. But never, never hurt my babies. It is so sick to hear all this. Sorry to keep ranting. It just breaks my heart to hear stuff like this.

| ![]() absolutely horrible. How could you do such a cruel thing to such an innocent creature. This lady must be horribly mentally ill. I hope she pays her earthly and heavenly debt to society. My prayers are with this beautiful little creature and I hope a loving family adopts her and gives her the love and attention she deserves. God bless! |

this woman obviously does not have respect for life. i think that her life does not deserve any respect either, i hope that she die of something 100X more horrible than what she did to her dog. of course that's not possible, just like it should not have been possible to do what she did to her dog.

Update- Dog buried alive suffered from long-term neglect, vet says - Washington County - Oregonlive.com Dog buried alive suffered from long-term neglect, vet says by John Snell, The Oregonian Tuesday October 28, 2008, 2:32 PM A dog that was buried alive suffered from long-term neglect, but showed no signs of the cancer its Forest Grove owners cited as the reason they tried to "euthanize" the animal, authorities said today. The owners -- Hyrum Long, 75, and his daughter, Susan Johnson, 50, -- were arrested Monday night on animal abuse charges. They were held overnight in the Washington County Jail and released on their own recognizance this morning, said Sgt. David Thompson, spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office. "I done a bad thing and I will take responsibility for it," Long said at his house today. "I want to apologize to people." Forest Grove police were called to Long's home in the 2200 block of Laurel Street on Friday afternoon after neighbors reported hearing a dog howling, said Capt. Aaron Ashbaugh, spokesman for the Forest Grove Police Department. Police found Molly, a badly injured Labrador mix, partly buried in Long's backyard. Ashbaugh said the animal's head was sticking out of the ground. A large cushion and a log was placed over the animal, but was later removed by neighbors who called police. Long and Johnson returned home and told police they had struck the dog in the head with a hammer in what they thought was a thrifty way to euthanize it. Long and Johnson told police they thought the dog was dead when they buried it in the yard and went out to dinner. The dog was taken to the Oregon Humane Society for emergency treatment, but was euthanized because of its head injury, said David Lytle, a Humane Society spokesman. Long told police he tried to put the dog down because he believed she had cancer. A spokesman for the Oregon Human Society said Dr. Kris Otteman, examined the dog's body after it was euthanized and found no obvious sign of the disease. "She was suffering an extreme case of long-term neglect," Otteman said, adding that Molly also had evidence of "a long-term lack of nutrition." Police said earlier that veterinarians believed Molly hadn't been fed in at least a week prior to her death. When she was examined at necropsy, Molly weighed 56 pounds. Dogs her size typically weigh between 70 and 90 pounds when they are fit, said Lytle. Lytle said the dog also had "a terrible skin condition - a loss of hair all over its body."

They were held overnight in the Washington County Jail and released on their own recognizance this morning, said Sgt. David Thompson, spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office. So these people were held over night in jail, and Released?? Is this all that is going to happen to them??? OMG! What is wrong with this world? I called on my neighbor, because he was not keeping food and water outside for his Golden Ret. named Gus. He kept him chained up all day and night, on a very short chain. My other neighbors and I kept feeding the dog, until I heard him one day hitting the dog with a garden hose. I yelled at the man, and called animal control for help. After 3 visits to this man from animal control, fines, they finally took Gus and found him a beautiful home. It was summer time, and we live in Florida. It was hot, and no water. This poor dog was being so mistreated I couldn't stand it. Now these people that hit their dog on the head with a hammer, will get one, two days in jail, maybe a fine, and let go?? Oh I am just sick!!! It turns my stomach to even type it. I am so sorry Molly your owners did this to you. You are safe now in Doggy Heaven. |

| ![]() That story makes me furious along with breaking my heart. How a human could treat a pup like that! An eye for an eye would be a fitting punishment here I think!

Yorkie Talker | ![]() I live in SW Florida and just now on the local news they reported that a 2 year old little baby was tortured by his 23 year old stepmother, who was ADDICTED TO TORTURING HIM!! She beat his head against the floor, bit off his fingernails, and when he was unconscious, continued the torture! She would open his eyes and poke them. He medflighted to a trauma center in Tampa. Luckily he survived, but with severe brain trauma. They ought to take the bitch stepmother and the sicko bitch that burned Bobo and skin them alive and then burn them. People that abuse childeren or animals, do not deserve to be alive. Hell they're not even human. I'm sorry if this is so long. But when I heard about this baby being tortured, I thought of poor Bobo and what he went through, only not to make it. Please pray for this little boy. I don't remember his name, but I remember how pitiful and hurt he looked. |
