The owners -- Hyrum Long, 75, and his daughter, Susan Johnson, 50, -- were arrested Monday night on animal abuse charges. They were held overnight in the Washington County Jail and released on their own recognizance this morning, said Sgt. David Thompson, spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
So these people were held over night in jail, and Released?? Is this all that is going to happen to them??? OMG! What is wrong with this world?
I called on my neighbor, because he was not keeping food and water outside for his Golden Ret. named Gus. He kept him chained up all day and night, on a very short chain. My other neighbors and I kept feeding the dog, until I heard him one day hitting the dog with a garden hose. I yelled at the man, and called animal control for help. After 3 visits to this man from animal control, fines, they finally took Gus and found him a beautiful home. It was summer time, and we live in Florida. It was hot, and no water. This poor dog was being so mistreated I couldn't stand it. Now these people that hit their dog on the head with a hammer, will get one, two days in jail, maybe a fine, and let go?? Oh I am just sick!!! It turns my stomach to even type it.
I am so sorry Molly your owners did this to you. You are safe now in Doggy Heaven. |
