| Puking? Everytime I lay little Beagan in bed with me, he will sleep for 10 minutes and then start gagging. If I don't pick him up he will puke (a watery bile), but if I pick him up he will start gagging and eventually throw up. Whats going on here??!?!?!

| I know you just got him a few days ago. Have you taken him to the vet yet for a checkup? I'd be so worried about anything being a little off with such a young puppy. |

| Bile is usually a sign of a dog being hungry. When was the last time he ate?

| Yes, if he's puking bile, his tummy is empty. At that age and size the puppy needs to be eating many, many small meals throughout the day. His blood sugar can drop, and he could have a hypoglycemic episode otherwise.

| Usually shaking and then seizures as far as I know. I didn't know this is a puppy. If you are at all worried, please call a vet.

| Lady is a type I diabetic (insulin dependant) so I always have to watch out for hypoglycemia. Here are the signs: Classic signs of hypoglycemia lethargy (lack of energy) weakness head tilting "drunkenness" - wobbling when walking, unbalanced hunger restlessness shivering ataxia - usually lack of muscular coordination, but maybe changes in head and neck movements disorientation stupor convulsions or seizures coma http://www.petdiabetes.org/hypoglycemia.htm You really need to get this little one to your vet for a thorough check up asap. From what you've said about his breeder, who knows what kind of care he got for the first six weeks of his life? |

| Our little one will be 4mo. old this month. She did the same thing today. Pukeing and it was just a bile. She really eats good and I had stopped giving her the Metical. I was reading about the hypoglemcia that these little ones can get, so if you don't have anything but just Kayro syrup, put alittle on your finger and give her. They can even get brain damage if its not taken care of soon enough. Like to have scared me to death when I read that. What I am going to do is feed her more small meals during the day instead of just 2 or 3 and keep the med. for the hypoglemcia for her to have at least maybe once a day. Good luck with your little one. They are just so fragile. |

| We had episode with Hallee where we had to rush her to the vet before office hours. She threw up 3 times and would hardley move. She would not move her head or anything when we called her name ect. She was hypoclycemic. She had to have her blood taken and and iv and then fed every two hours. Gracie gave us a scare just this week. She threw up twice in the morning, but acted fine otherwise. We make sure they eat before going to bed, even if we have to hand feed them. I think they are becoming spoiled with the hand feeding. They will stand around the food bowl waiting for me to give them some in my hand and when I stop they just look at me and won't eat from the bowl. However, I have found that if I mix the cottage cheese or boiled chicken in with their food they are sure to eat on their own. I do this in the morning to make sure they eat good and then before we go to bed. It is a scary thing to deal with.
