| Your vet might take the unused portion back for a refund.

| My vet suggested I just give my dogs under 10lbs. just one half of the heartguard. Since I have 6 dogs it makes sense moneywise. I would try it one more month, it might have been something else that made your dog sick. |

| I wouldn't automatically assume it was the heartguard that made her sick. I would give it another try first because most likely it was something else that made her sick and not the heartguard. If she throws up again then I might assume it was the heartguard but there are way too many things that can make a dog throw up to just assume this normally safe product caused it. Also, When you give the heartguard do NOT divide the pieces. The meaty chew is INJECTED with the heartworm medicine. This means the medicine is most likely NOT evenly distributed in that chew. So giving your dog one half this month and one half next month does not work. One of those halves may have all the medicine and the other may not have any which means your dog is skipping a month of preventative. The chew is supposed to be work and be safe for any dog under 25lbs so I wouldn't worry about it being too much.

| Chloe (11 lb Maltichon) and baby Bella (3.5 lb Yorkie) are on Interceptor. They take different doses but gobble their pills it right up. Never had any problems.
