![]() Try a little pineapple juice in his food. We have one that does this and it keeps her from eating it.

![]() Gosh, we almost made it... Roxy and TJ are almost 3 years old. I finally got them on such a good schedule. They eat in the AM and then poop - I get to flush it. They eat in the PM and then poop - I get to flush it. It has been soooooooo good now for about 2 solid months. I really, really thought I made it through the storm... But, low and behold. Roxy didn't poop Monday morning before I left, so they had poop for lunch. And then it happened again on Tuesday. THIS SUCKS!!!! Oh boy, I have tried EVERYTHING - You name it and I have definatly tried it at least 3x. Pineapples don't work for them, sometimes, they would poop out pieces of it and I guess the pineapple was better the second time around (yuck). Anyway, I think maybe I will try the actually pineapple juice in their food and see if I can get them to even eat their food let alone stopping the poop eating! All I have to say is, if the pup is still young - WORK YOUR BUTT OFF TO TRY AND NIP THIS THING - b/c after 2.5 years - I am at my witts end ![]()

![]() hi, for the first several months that we had our baby maddy she ate her poop too, somehow, no matter how quick we where she managed to get at it! i read that this can be a behavior, or they may be missing something in their diet. we cook her food for her, so, i was concerned that she might be missing something, so, i started her on a daily vitamin. since then she has not touched her poop. i don't know if it was due to the vitamin, or, she just out grew it??? i have also read that putting a few sprinkles of meat tenderizer on their food works, but, we never tried that. good luck!

![]() Oh I am so glad I found this thread. My little Abby is 14 weeks old. I got her and Max (16 weeks old) two weeks ago. Abby likes to eat her poop - mmm, mmm, mmm - she just seems to love it - YUCK! I watch them both like a hawk when they start the potty walking so I can praise when they go on the potty pad and praise them. I have a dog sitter that is coming in every weekday for an hour mid-day to visit with them and clean up their mess. I have started waking up at 3am to check the bathroom (puppy area) for Abby pebbles. She tends to poop around that time - I can hear her walking on the potty pad. When she first came home, her stools were a little loose, but they are pretty much normal now. She seemed to really like the soft stools. Ew! but still tried to eat the regular ones. I am pretty thankful that she just seems to like her poop and has not started eating Max's poop. But I am concerned that Max may decide he wants to eat poop too. My vet was not really concerned, but said I could try some FOR-BID and gave me a packet. I am going to pick up some canned pineapple today and give it a try. Thanks

![]() I don't know if this will help or not, but I had this problem with my Roxie. It has disappeared since I have started carrying treats out to give her when she potties outside. She now does her business then comes back to me and sits to wait for her treat. This gives me time to scoop up the poop in a bag. We then make a big show about throwing it away. When I say 'let's throw it away', she heads straight for the garbage can. Oh yeah, the treats also helped to house break her faster. She hasn't had an accident inside for a long time.
