| Picky Eater I don't know what to do because Ruby does not seem to like her Merrick food, she picks at it and eats the best parts(like on the Wingaling can she eats the wings but nothing else in it) and rarely eats the Solid Gold kibble. She will eat human food no problem though so that is probably the problem. I have tried wellness and she did not like the kibble and also the canidae others have mentioned and no luck there. Any ideas what I should do?

| I know exactly what you are talking about. Murfee picks out all of the veggies in Merricks. He makes such a mess. All of my animals for years have been on Science Diet. When I get on YT and most people said SD wasn't good for them I changed Murfee's food. Well, I was tired of all the mess and his pickiness so gave him some SD....you would have though I had been starving him for months. He thinks he is in heaven. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76518 You could always email these companies and request samples that way you dont waste your money on a huge bag and waste it. I mailed to most of them and got many many samples within a few weeks! Hope that helps!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I have 4 yorkies in the family and all are relatively picky not one of them has turned down chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul. I mix Canidea, Innove Evo, and chicken soup they tend to pick out the chicken soup and eat just that. I got a sample from them in a week they were very fast!

Also, get on the floor if you have to and put them between your legs and try to start her eating by feeding a bite from your hand. Just a few suggestions. I have dealt with many picky eaters over the years.

| Thank you for all the suggestions!!! I should of mentioned that I do at times put some cut up cooked chicken in her food and thenshe will gobble it down, I was just looking to see if there was one type out there that they seem to love! Wouldn't that be so nice if there was?! I will have to check out the Chicken Soup one, I have never seen it anywhere and have only heard of it from this site. I will have to work on the kibble. I just read a post in the toy area that mentioned the empty water bottle with kibble and cheerios and I am going to see if that works too. Thanks Again for all the suggestions!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Your welcome! I also agree that if I hand feed them they tend to eat better...in my youngests case (a boy) i have to slide his food across the hardwood floors and let him chase and kill it b4 he eats it...I think its a "man" thing!

| Good luck! Mine would eat Chicken Soup, but not really well. She eats the Natural Balance that I mentioned like candy. They are all so different!

| My dog Sig is bony and 5.7 lbs and is a very fussy eater. We tried Merrick but had the same prob of him spitting out the veggies and he also didn't like the liver. We switched to Evangers with some success - he loved their drummettes as it has actual chicken drums, a little bit of pasta and a little bit of veggies. He ate decently and the food seemed great. Recently, we attended some events (including Broadway Barks) and discovered Trudy's homemade. Its made in Hell's Kitchen in NYC. I of course told the owner that if Sig liked it, I would buy some - its a pretty safe bet as he never likes anything (including treats). To my surprise, he loved it as did my mom's Yorkie (4lbs but less fussy). He eats about twice as much as he did with Evangers (which was about twice as much as he ever ate with Merrick). We have been sticking with Trudy's for about 3 weeks. Major change is in a decrease in the tear stains (no smell and less red). Good luck with your picky baby... I am sure you will find something you love soon!!! |

| My two eat homecooked food, with some kibble from Blue Buffalo. It's the dry food only. They both like it and do well on it. When I fed this all the time, I switched flavors each time I bought a new bag. This ensures they get a better balance of nutrients, though some think it's best to change foods every so often-not every bag, but maybe once each year or so, just to make sure your dog gets a variety of different food groups. I cover all food groups in homecooking. I feed a mixture each day of protein, carbohydrates, vegetables, and supplements. I add a little cottage cheese, fruit, and cheese in their diet too, along with all-natural dog treats for snacks and training.

| well I got my samples of chicken soup and she won't eat it either! So right now she is eating no kibble and we have tried solid gold chicken soup wellness a german brand that I can't remeber the name of and probably some others! She will eat wet food if there is real chicken mixed in with it. I was at the grocery store the other day and picked up 3 cans of Cesar and she wolfed it down. I don't want to give her this crummy kind of food so that is all I am buying. Tomorrow I will have to figure out something else to try. Of course she likes human food but I really would like her to eat kibble.

The kibble is tiny the tiniest I have seen. I think thats why he loves his food now because of the size its easy for him to eat. its worth a try ur baby might like it too. I called 800-442-0402 and they sent mesampleswithin 3days hope this helps |
