| well we are going in tomorrow to have it put in! There is a bit of a communication barrier between my vet and i as he has a strong accent, and bless his heart he is SUCH a kind man, therefore when i asked the brand i didnt' totally catch it but i wanted to make sure it was ISO (internationally recongnized... oh i would LOVE to travel internationally ) and it is. So i'm sure i'll know more about it tomorrow when i get the literature on it. And while he is an amazing vet with many years of experience i think next year we will be switching as i want a vet that feels Layla does not need to be vaccinated year, but that is a whole different thread I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me advice and support and the horror stories that kicked my butt into gear. I read that you should indicate on a tag that she is Microchipped in the event that one shelter cna't read the chip, they will at least know she has one and can seek another reader. So i'll also be doing that should the chip not come with a tag. Thanks again everyone! |

| We left our babies last year for 4 days while we went away for our anniversary. They were left with my mom, but we are so over protective that all we did was think about Gracie and Hallee. Of course, I called my mom every day to see how they were doing. I had her make sure she swept good that there was nothing on the floor they could possibly get and choke on. If the door is open, my babies would run right out. So made sure they had gate and no way my babies could escape the house. It is scary leaving them in the care of someone else. We don't go many places over night for this reason. Heather-Mamma to Gracie and Hallee |

| Oh, about the micro chipping, I am not sure either way. I think if somebody took my babies they would not bring them back, but with these little guys I am sure they would be at a vet's office sometime or other and then I could get them back. Heather-Mamma to Gracie and Hallee |

| I had mine done at the humane society. It was half the price my vet charged and I figured a good portion of lost dogs end up there. Neither of my dogs minded the microchip. And I'm glad I've had it done.

| I'm a big believer in micro-chipping. I chip all my puppies whether I keep them to show or sell them. It gives me peace of mind to know that hopefully if they are stolen or lost there is some chance of recovery. Also, a friend of mine had a small male stolen right out of her house that was not chipped and the police told her that she would have a hard time proving that the dog was hers without some type of identification if they did happen to catch the guy. |

| Well Layla got it done today!! she was such a brave girl!!! i was more upset by the size of the needle than she was.. it was HUGE!!!!! but she bled a little but otherwise she is great. Canadian microchips are much different than in the US, there is one kind here.... not 5 different kinds, and i'm going to send in her registration tomorrow! thank you everyone i'm SO glad it is DONE!!!! |

| We have ALL of our dogs microchipped and it gives me peace of mind at least! You can prove that they are yours....accidents happen and they can get out of your fence...if they end up at the shelter they will scan them and you can have your dog back by the end of the day!
