| Fussy Eater Hi guys,I have a 5 year old yorkie who has always been a fussy eater, When I put his food down in the mornings 9 times out of ten he will walk away from it, at this point I have to pick it up off the floor as Holly who is 9 will eat it, and she has a severely sensititive stomach, which we are trying to get to the bottom of at the moment, she is eating royal canin sensitivity food at the moment. so this is really causing me a nightmare. If I do put it down for him at a later time I really have to watch out for Holly eating it. and I sometimes forget. (then we have holly with really bad dihorreah,I rehomed her and she was badly treated previously and she won't ask to go out for a toilet, so she does it in the house NIGHTMARE) I feed them again in the evening which he may or may not eat, he usually asks for food late at night cause he is so hungry. I don't know whether to just feed him once a day as he might be hungry enough to eat? another problem he has always had is if he hasn't eaten and he's hungry he will sick up yellow bile. I started feeding him chicken and rice cause i thought he'd prefer it, and he liked it to start with , and a few meals after he looked at it and turned his nose up. AAGHHHHHH What should I do with my fussy eater? |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | have you tried letting him eat out of your hand? one way I get my girls to eat sometimes is take a piece of kibble and play the "I'm gonna get it game" then I roll the kibble on the floor like a ball, and she usually runs at it and eats it. after doing this a couple times, she will start eating. good luck! |

No Longer a Member | While at Petsmart I picked up a bottle of IAMS Savory Sauce chicken flavor. Was kind of leary because I wouldn't feed their dog food..but just a few drops of this gravy type stuff on Giz's food and he will eat anything I put it on. Give it a try. |

No Longer a Member | I'm dealing with this SAME issue with Chloe, and I'm just so tired of her not eating. I'm about to go out to the vet for a pre and post bile acid test--though she shows absolutely no symptoms of an liver problem other thn the fact that she simply doesn't eat. Here's an idea...have you thought of feeding him the sensitive tummy food too? |

| I also have a very fussy eater. rainbow is 51/2 months old and will not eat anything but her ceasar. I have not found one dry food that she will eat consistently. I have tried leaving nothing in her bowl but dry food and she will go days without eating. What should I do?????

| i gave up on just using dried food, i keep a wet food and dry food in the house, just to try and encourage him to eat, so there is a bit of variety. I must say though before he was neutered he hardly ate at all,for some reason after his op it gave him a bit of a better appetite, although still a fussy boy. |

| I dont know if you can get it in England but try the Natural Balance dog food in the rolls. I only give it to my dogs as a treat because they would eat the whole huge roll if I let them. I have only tried the beef and they love it. They have Turkey and the duck and potatoe I think. It is like doggy crack and the dogs cant get enough of it plus it is good for them because Natural Balance makes it. |

YT 500 Club Member | We have a similar problem. Our dog will eat the Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier blend, but not every meal. This is the only food she will eat consistently. She will eat either in the morning or in the evening but not always. Sometimes she won't eat at all or she will eat both times. We never know. However, the cat will eat the Royal Canin if I leave it down, and it is too expensive to feed the cat since he will eat anything and everything (and weighs about 25 pounds!) So I put up the dog food if she doesn't eat, and when she begs for a treat, I get out her food or bring it out again in the evening for the next meal. She will eventually eat.
