| retaining baby teeth after 8 months old I have an 8 month old yorkie that has not lost her baby teeth yet and her adult teeth have come in in front of her baby teeth. I have been advised to have the baby teeth pulled but I don't want to unless I have to because she has so many to be pulled and I think it will be tramatic. Anyone out there who has this experience and know what to do??? |

| the frankster has those also, he has his k 9 teeth or his long pointy ones on the bottom like that and the vet said to give him a couple months and if no movement than he would have to pull them, so we are on the waiting list for surgery beucase the vet is the only vet near us and the nest town over so he is way backed up but he said he can pull his teeth and justhave him neutured at the same time, so that way he wont have to charge twice for puting him to sleep and office visits and such, so he gets netured in june end of june so we will have to wait until then and he said its ok as long as its not bothering him we can wait till then , but he has had bad breath and i think that maybe why i dont know but his breath smells aweful but i would at least have them checked out and if they need to be pulled then do it you can search for pictures maybe on here or google of dogs with neglected dental care and the outcome is horrible. so just ask the vet and see what he recommends

| I'm in the same boat!!! My baby is almost 8 month and she has nice 2 rows of front teeth.... They are not even loose.... So I am planning to spay her and pull her baby teeth next month. I do agree that there are so many teeth she needs to get pulled.... I am worry as well but I know it is better to do so!!! |

| Autumn had the same issue. The vet adviced me to have her teeth taken care of at the same time as her spay so she was not subjected to being put under twice. He was also concerned because yorkies are prone to early teeth decay that this would just add to her chances. She was already getting food caught in between the teeth. She had 10 teeth pulled along w/her spay. She did great, came right home and ate hard food out of my other dogs food bowl. |

| Mine used to have the same problem. His breath stinks. I waited for a while but they won't fall off on their own so off we went to the vet to get them out at 9 months old. His breath now smells so much better and his adult teeth looks healthier.

| You can pull the baby teeth yourself since it has no root. I did it myself while playing with her. It is not that hard. |

| Pete had to have 13 teeth pulled while being neutered. The doctor just gave me some pain meds for him and put him on a wet food diet for at least a couple days and he was perfectly fine. Oh and he was also 8 months at the time, I called him my little shark boy since he had two perfect rows of teet
