This is great information! I sent an email to most of these sites Saturday and today I received a box from UPS with 4 nice size samples from Chicken Soup and a 5 dollar coupon from Canidae! Excellent info thank you.

Wellness Small Bites
 
Just wanted to let everyone know that if you call Wellness (Old Mother Hubbard), they will send you free samples of the Wellness Small Breed to try. Scooter has been on regular adult Wellness but I was curious about the Small breed. I called and within days I had three sample sizes of Small Breed waiting for me. Scooter loves it and we are now switching. All it took was a simple phone call to customer care.

Also, each sample pack had a $2 off coupon on the back to use to buy a bag.

Does anyone feed their Yorkie Orijen food? Rocky is extremely picky about his food. He will eat it, but not out of the bowl. I gave him Royal Canin Puppy for awhile and then switched him to Wellness. He doesn't seem to really like it, but he'll eat it at night...when he gets hungry. Also...do you get your pups small breed food? AND ONE MORE...how often and how much do you feed your babies?

Thanks for this link, I just got 13 sample bags from Artemis, my babies seem to like it, I gave them some as a treat. Also, the email for Evangers isn't working, try sales@evangersdogfood.com, I got that off the website. Maybe that will work, I just sent them an email. I am going to see how they like the different foods and ask our local Petsense (a small town version of Petsmart that just opened) to see about ordering the food I choose. They have a suggestion sheet. Doesn't hurt to try. They don't have much selection in the food area really, the only really premium food they have is Wellness so far.

For those of you that have received samples upon request, how frequently did you receive a coupon to purchase their product?

I am a couponer, so any brands you may remember would be rather helpful. My dog is a year old and I have paid nothing but tax for all of his food (wet & dry) since I got him at 4 months old. :D

Love this thread! I requested a few and so far got 2 bags from Chicken Soup and 1 bag from Wellness (also a $5 coupon). Bailey loves the Chicken Soup, but doesn't seem to like the Wellness.

My babies LOVE Blue Buffalo!
 
I did some reading on the best food for my babies and took the list to Petsmart. I found Blue Buffalo puppy chow, bought it and dutifully mixed some of it with the Science diet they were currently eating. It was hilarious!! They actually dumped the food out on the floor and ate the new food and left the Science diet all over the floor!! Now what am I supposed to do?? Hope their little tummies like it!!

Obviously they are very smart, astute puppies! Science Diet's #1 ingredient is chicken by-products. In case you don't know what by-products are, it is all the stuff that no one would want to eat; heads, feet, beak, etc. Look for a product that has meal instead. i.e. lamb meal, beef meal....

I sent a request to Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul for 5 or 6 samples of the puppy food to hand out with my puppy packs. I was AMAZED at what I was sent in return. I received a 13 pound box filled wiht MANY sample bags and the nutrition guides to go along. I am thrilled with the food and the price and my dogs LOVE it. I highly reccomend this for anyone looking for a good dog or puppy food.:animal36

:confused:I have been trying so many of the product everyone has talked about. It is such a guessing game. Pet smart talked me into Royal Canine Puppy 33, now I am not sure this was the right decision, but they love it. The small little bite size is great for my little girls.
To get to the point all the others are not as tiny a bite size that I have noticed not like the royal canine does anyone have a suggestion????

I don't know how small you are looking at but Life's Abundance is pretty small. But, it should be big enough for them to actually masticate instead of swallowing it whole. These little guys have a propensity for teeth issues so chewing is good for them.

Petsmart carries Blue Buffalo. Max likes it but I'm thinking of changing because he doesn't like the "life source bits". I end up picking them out and wonder how much of the bag I'm actually wasting and how much vitamins he's not really getting by not eating the bits.

I have been so confused about this!
I receive my new yorkie on saturday and she will only be 8 weeks old. I know that she is on purina pro plan for toy breed and I am not sure of the quality of this food.
I want to give Pixie a good quality dog food, now here is my question how soon can I switch her to a better quality food?
What would you suggest and how do I go about doing this?
I have a Jack-a-poo who is 5 years old and she is on wellness supermix healthy weight bc she is a lil chubby. Any suggestions?

My girls were on Purina Healthy morsels when I got them. We have switched them over to Royal Canin Puppy 33. They love it. We mixed it with the Purina the first night and they put the Purina on the floor and ate the Royal Canin.
