Are there any of you in the UK who can advise me the best food to feed (not raw or home cooked). Darcy was on pedigree when I got her, and I have heard bad reviews about it so would like to change.
Was thinking of changing to natures diet, natures menu,or James well beloved. Any advice would be fantastic, Thanks

I asked a couple of companies for samples for my some to be fur-son. Wellnes sent 2 bags of 3oz, Chicken Soup sent 2 bags of 6oz, Eagle sent 2 bags, and canidae said they didn't send samples but told me about a local store which they supply with samples.

Thanks for inquiring; unfortunately, we do not have samples. We are currently getting ready to release our trial size bags for resale next month so you might keep an eye out for them at your local retailer. If you would like to try our food before they become available what I would suggest is to purchase a small 5lb bag of food risk free because if your dog doesn’t like it, you can exchange the product. Please keep your receipt in the event your dog does not like the food.

I have fed my dogs food from Flint River Ranch (Fasteners for Retail - Home). They use no preservatives and have lamb and rice or trout and sweet potato food. Now that they are senior puppy boys they get the senior kibble with chondroitin in it and they seem to be doing great! The prices are reasonable and there is no shipping charge. It beats lugging the bag out of the pet store into your car (then from car to house). I think they have free samples.

Mine LOVE LOVE LOVE it! They go nutso over it, even Brodie who is my very picky eater...He loves it! And he doesn't even like most treats!!!

I am going crazy here! I am trying to get my yorkies on a better food. Right now I am feeding them Nutro Natural Choice (which is a 2 star rating) and I want them to have at least a 5 star rating (out of 6). Anyway, I started contacting some of these companies listed in the first post for some samples, and then noticed that Petsmart does not carry any of these brands! WHY? Petsmart is the only pet store around my area, and I can't even imagine what the shipping would be on a 40 lb bag of dogfood if I ordered online :eek: - so Petsmart is really my only option. So, who knows of a good, healthy dogfood sold at Petsmart???

I believe I requested a sample from Canidae, Solid Gold, Nature's Variety, and Old Mother Hubbard about 2-3 months ago.

So far, I'm still waiting. Although I did receive some brochures from Canidae...but, that's about it.

I requested samples a few months ago. I recieved samples of Artemis, Canidae Pet Food, Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul, Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Pet Foods, and Old Mother Hubbard. Never got a reply from Champion Pet Food, Evanger's Dog and Cat Food Company, and Natura Pet Products. All the others stated they had no samples, or just sent coupons.

Why isn't LA listed when ya all talk about all this "good food" if it is supposed to be so good?? How many people here like it? I am going to give it a try and I hope it works good for Lily. I ordered the stuff to put in her water too for her teeth (she is 8 months old) guess I may as well start now?? I am interested in seeing how many of you have used this and the LA dog food and if so ... how do you like it?? If you don't want to post something negative and risk offending someone or something please pm me and tell me what you think or know!! It just sounds so good to me from what all I have read that I don't know why alot more people on here are using it and I don't see it mentioned that much?? Maybe more of you do use it and just don't comment? I hope it's not one of those things that "if it sounds too good to be true it is"?? THANKS!!

I am using Life's Abundance now for all five of my babies. I recently switched to it (about a month or so ago) after reading terrible things about Nutro Natural Choice. So far, it is working out great for me. I would recommend it. :thumbup: :thumbup:

I think it was just an oversight.

In my opinion, LA is not a bad food or a great food.
It does contain beet pulp which is questionable.
There are other foods that seem to be comparable.

Also, not that it makes too much different if she has help from experts, but a holistic veterinarian formulated it, not a veterinary nutritionist.

LA contains probiotics which would be fine with most people but there may be others who don't want to give them... One strain that they use is said to be great by some people but I had found on a .gov website that it may be pathogenic and resistant to anti-microbials. I may still give this probiotic to Ellie but it is worth looking into to see if you'd want to give it...

I for sure use it :) and love it. Mine a thriving on it and doing so well. Their coats are awesome, never have itchies and have tons of energy. I swear by it. I sell it and I wouldn't sell anything I don't 100% believe in.

:( Merrick Pet Care and Timberwolf do NOT have samples. Maybe too many people asked for them!
