| Hi suzyQ...we have the same problem with Jo right now. Our vet said he should grow out of it eventually. In the meantime we don't let him eat for a couple hours before we go anywhere and we give him a small dose of children's Benadryl about a half hour before we leave. Some people say they ride better if they can see out the window but some prefer to lay down so they don't see things moving around them. Check with your vet and see what advice they have for you that might help. |

| Thank you all! Thank you all so much. I will be going to the vet next week to have his teeth check (BAD Breath!!!) and I will ask her about something then. My future daughter-in-law is going to school to be a vet and she said there are some herbs that you can use. I will checking on that too!

| Wembley has the same problem. It's terrible. She gets so worked up about the car, she even starts shaking as soon as she realizes she's leaving the house with us. The vet had recomended to us to give her a tiny amount of children's bennedryl, but she got completely knocked out for the entire day. I felt so bad for her, and haven't used it since. We've tried different placements for her in the car. She's so small - 4 pounds- that i don't feel safe leaving her without any restraint in the car (wouldn't do it to a child, feel the same about a puppy). In fact, I did leave her out in the back once, and she crawled under the seats to the front where the pedals are. Was so dangerous! So, we have her now in a medium crate and it seems to work well. It's covered in towels, so if she does vomit, it's not too hard to clean up. I try not to feed her too much before a car ride, and to have some water ready when the ride is over (she pants and shakes a lot throughout the ride). The vet told us she should grow out of it, so I am trying to patiently await that day. Sounds like all of us on this thread are in the same boat! Rachel |

| Same boat with my girl lots of towels in the crate and no food before the trip. My boy is fine I haven't tried any of the benedryl maybe try half the recommeded dose... I haven't had to take my girl anywhere in the last 2 months so I can't say if she's grown out of it. Good luck! |

| I used to have a dog called Katie corgi cross who was ill everytime she got in the car we solved the problem by putting her in a crate and covering it entirely so she couldn't see out - she was a different dog from that day forward and travelled from Surrey to Scotland on a regular basis with no problem. |

| My lil guy used to get car sick too. It was so bad he'd be vomiting within minutes after we left the house, even when he hadn't eaten for hours before we left! A woman at Jake's Dog House recommended an elevated car seat/bed. She said it works because the foam structure, which is about 24 inches thick, absorbs the motion and its the motion that makes the dog sick. The car seat/bed sits on the back seat and is held in by the seat belt. It's covered in sheepskin that is removable and washable and it has built in compartments under it for storage. I attach the buckle to his harness and he's so high up that he can see out the window. At first I thought it was a bit ridiculous but I had tried just about everything else so I bought it. He hasn't been car sick since and now he brings me his leash and harness to go by byes! It's the best investment I've made for him so far, I just wish I would've found out about it sooner. |

| Hi Kaymo, i know the carseat you mean it's a stow-away-3-in-1-carseat we can find it on the net but non of the companys will ship to the U.K there is another one but it doesn't look as good imo plus it's pink and Noah is a BOY, come on poor soul or what he will be after this next episode of soap. So untill i can find what i want i have had to buy him the smallest seatbelt ever seen.and hope that he stays safe. |

| My grandmother's dog used to get sick too. She gave it ice or ice cream before and sometimes stopping mid trip for a long drive. It worked for her dog.

| Well Max and I went to the Vet on Thurs. She said to try giving him the herb Ginger. You can get it pretty much anywhere. I also put his bed in the car and covered it with a beach towel so he couldn't see the motion, IT WORKED! He didn't get sick on the way there or on the way back. Once I covered it he just went to sleep!!! Suzy & Max
