Wembley has the same problem. It's terrible. She gets so worked up about the car, she even starts shaking as soon as she realizes she's leaving the house with us. The vet had recomended to us to give her a tiny amount of children's bennedryl, but she got completely knocked out for the entire day. I felt so bad for her, and haven't used it since.

We've tried different placements for her in the car. She's so small - 4 pounds- that i don't feel safe leaving her without any restraint in the car (wouldn't do it to a child, feel the same about a puppy). In fact, I did leave her out in the back once, and she crawled under the seats to the front where the pedals are. Was so dangerous! So, we have her now in a medium crate and it seems to work well. It's covered in towels, so if she does vomit, it's not too hard to clean up. I try not to feed her too much before a car ride, and to have some water ready when the ride is over (she pants and shakes a lot throughout the ride).

The vet told us she should grow out of it, so I am trying to patiently await that day. Sounds like all of us on this thread are in the same boat!
