| I have never been their, but I was told if they have worms alot of times they will scoot their bottom on the floor. But this is also true if their anal glands get full & need to be expressed. Any dog under 20 pds. need to have their anal gland expressed if they are full. God Bless |

| If the worms are bad enough it can make them vomit. It will also make their bellies look full and can drain their energy. In the stool there can be little white pieces. |

| Next time your out and about, stop at any of the Vets. office and pick up some pamplets on worms. They are free and I'm sure you have seen them in some sort of display. If not then ask for some. |

| Ah yes worms-it unfortunately does happen. I have mostly had experience with tape worms because we have so many fleas here in the hot months (which seems to be all the months!). The tell tale sing for us is we will always find what looks like yellowish grains of rice in their bedding. These are tapeworm segments that shed off of the worms. You will also find them hanging around their rear ends. I believe with other worms, they will start to lose weight even though they are eating normally. |

| My German Shep. had tape worms last summer. I didn't even know it until they had gotten bad enough to where she pooped in the house and I could visibly see them. The vet told me it was from eating animals. My Shep. has been known to catch and eat a rabbit or two. Most of the other types of worms I was told that you can't visibly see them in the stools. Most just pass eggs through their stools and noticeable with the naked eye. If you are concerned you can take a fresh stool sample and drop it off at your vet. They will then give you the results and medicene. Minimal cost that way.

| i am just such a worry wart that i cant help but get scared. i think i will just drop off a stool sample like you guys suggested just to be safe. bella sleeps with me every night so if i start to see like rice looking things i will know. thanks so much for the info, ahh just thinking about it makes me sick...hehe....anyways, thanks again. oh one more question, is it silly to drop off a stool sample once a month, just to be extra careful????
