I kindly ask that you please do some research. This question has been asked a million and a half times..........the only way to find out if by YOU doing research. A good way is by searching this site (using the search button) and any search engine. To start you could watch this video healthypetnet.com Research what by-products are etc....... You have to decide what is best and not rely on other's opinions or experiences No one is born knowing these things but you are going to get a TON of different opinions and be more confused than when you started. So, please, I encourage you and everyone else to do your own research and ultimately YOU decide what is best for your pet Jess

| I have tried Eukanuba, Science Diet, Chicken Soup & ProPlan. My youngest would not eat any of these foods. I now buy Nutro Ultra and she loves it. I don't know if it's the best food out there, but I'm sticking with it. Before I was introduced to Y/T I fed our Cairn Terrier Pedigree small bites and she lived for 16 years with absolutely no health problems. I feel bad now that I've read all the posts on dog foods so I would agree with everyone. Do your homework and buy what's best for you.

| Question - I too have done some research and want to switch my pup off Science Diet onto something better. I recently requested samples of Chicken Soup, Canidae, and Innova. What do you also think about Nutro? Someone else recommended that to me. (it also happens to be sold at places like petco!). ok here's my real question - I know that when changing food it needs to be done gradually. But how do you recommend I start off with some of the samples I am getting? Does using a sample truly provide enough time / food to determine which one I should go with? Or should I simply go by my pups first reaction. So I mix in a little of the sample with the SD stuff I feed him now and see which he goes for the most? thanks! |

| I was told to mix the two foods together 50/50, and through out the week gradually ween off the old food so that by day 7 you have a the pup on the new food... not sure how big the samples are and if that will be enough for the week... also i've been told not to change up the food too often especially if your dog is under 6 months since the lining in their stomach is not fully developed yet. Also during this time always check their stool... if it seems it's not hard and it's too soft, then it may not be working with their stomach. Please note that the person that told me about the weening had the puppy on really bad food...

| I give my furbabies Innova puppy food but now have switched to EVO (dry) and Merrick (wet and dry) and Evangers food (wet) and they are either all natural or organic . .could NOT be happier . . .I think that there are a lot of great dog food out on the market . . but stay away from anything being sold at the supermarket and when you go to petsmart/petco, be warry to as not all are great for your little one. Best thing is read the ingredients. |

| It is probably top rated based on popularity....advertising & marketing. They will do all they can to make you think their product is the best. Im still trying to figure out what to feed Izzy. Im still researching. In the meantime, Im feeding him Nutro Ultra Puppy.

| Anyone ever try Castor & Pollux Natural Ultramix? I just bought some of that and if I remember correctly from the bag it has 8 or 9 good ingredients before the first fat. |
