Hi all, I am a newbie to the site, but not to Yorkies. I'm currently owned by three of the "little farts" and the oldest one(12 years) is driving me nuts with her habit of laying in wait for the younger two to do thier "doo" so she can snack. I'd love to try your recipe. Would you please post the proportions of the ingredients, ie: how much anise seed to how much alfalfa sprout. Thanks. Love this site.....almost as much as I love my Yorkie furbabies.

Aren't alfalfa sprouts often linked to ecoli contamination? Does ecoli pose a risk to our little ones? I would love a solution to the poop eating issue!

| I say Alfa-Alfa... you say Alfalfa I say Po-tato... you say potay-to! Same thing! I just spelled it the way it's on the package. Recepie... not much to it... I put the 1/8 tea spoon Anise seeds into the Motar & Pestle LAB200.JPG.jpg - I'm sure you can put it into a pepper grinder and would work too. Or even a hammer! - Then I get some Alfalfa and mince it up. - I haven't measured how much. I rinse it really good. I try to get the freshest organic sprouts. Then I mix the sprouts, Anise, tiny bit of canned dog food, and the dry food and mix it together. That's it. Most of the time they leave the poop alone now. I did catch Jolie playing with one yesterday but she spit it out... Then she tried to kiss me! Ewww! I brushed her teeth right away!

Check the ingredients of your food. I've found that my girl only does that if I use a food with fish meal in it. It's the same thing if you have a cat in the house, they will sometimes eat the cats poop if it has eaten fish meal.

Your post is very timely since I caught Chewie eating his poop on Saturday. YUCK!!! He pooped while I was in the shower and was eating it when I got out. Maybe he was trying to hide the evidence since he decided to go in my bathroom instead of on his pad. Hmmmm.....I wonder how many other times he's managed to hide the evidence.
