| How long can you keep the opened package? I guess 1 large vial would give our babies 6 doses...Is there no degredation/reduced potency once opened?

| My vet is the one who told me to do that same thing to save money. He said it would the same as the smaller doses only cheaper this way. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Our vet told us from the very beginning that we could share the smallest dog size (0-22 lbs) between our girls each month. But he did not mention saving any of that for another month. We were excited to but just one per month and not two!!

| My vet didn't tell me about it but I figured if 1 vial was for a dog up to 22lbs. I could divide it and do both. I feel alot better dividing it thaqn putting enough for a 22lb dog on my 7lb baby. So I just use the 1 vial. Fins up |

| When we first got Little Bit, the vet told us just to use 1/2 the vial the first month and then use the second 1/2 the second month. She just told us to store it in a ziplock bag. Silly me, though, I thought it was because she was so young. I guess I could just keep doing it that way though, since Little Bit is still less than 3# at 7 months. Did they give you what the difference in strength was for cats? It surprises me that the cat solution is stronger. I thought that cats were usually more sensitive to poisons than dogs. |

| I don't use frontline but their flea medicine is split up. Someone on here suggested this as a way to save money. So I buy one tube from my vet and it treats 4 of my furbabies. The vet gave me a syringe which is marked that tells me how much to give each of them. It has saved me alot of money. Instead of paying for 6 tubes of flea medicine I pay for one or two that will treat them all. If I got it individually, it would cost me about $72 for all the flea medicine, but this way I only pay $12. I get the revolution, it has heart worm medicine in it also, so I save even more money. I am so glad someone suggested this, because otherwise, I would have never thought of doing this!!

| Advantage Does anyone know if you can do this with advantage as well. I noticed that the cat & dog formulas are the same formula with two active ingredients but one of those is a little stronger in the cat formula than the dog. Still wondering why that is, could it be that cats clean themselves so much they think they will wash it off? I'm just grasping at straws- I really have no idea?? |

| I've been doing this for years and have saved a TON of money. The opened vial will last at least a month, but not sure after that. I do the same with heartworm pills. |

| Save even More Money! We use revolution, it is a topical like frontline but treats fleas, heartworms, earmites, mange. Your vet probably sells it but I get mine at deadfleaz.com really cheap. It is great It protects from all these things, so easy to use, no pills, it works, its safe-I love it. You will save a bundle by using that site, no prescription needed, they also sell frontline & other stuff to. But buying the one revolution instead of FL & HW tabs is much better. |

| I do the same thing. I use the revolution and split it. It is so much easier and even more cheaper. Plus I don't have to fight with to take a pill since it is topical and it is included!!!

| I use K9 Advantix on mine. I buy a large breed tube and put it in a vial and I also have a marked syringe. I only buy one tube and it's good for 10 applications which is a 5 month supply for me. One tube cost me about $13. I am saving lots of $$$$$$$ and it has worked for me. I also called K9 Advantix and they did confirm that it is the same ingredients in every tube just smaller or bigger portions for different size dogs. |
