| Can I feed my yorkie twice a day ? I have a 4 month old female yorkie. She is 3.5 lb. She never has hypoglycemia or sign of hypoglycemia. Currently I feed her 3 times a day. I am thinking to start feeding her twice a day. Do you think it is to early to feed her twice a day ? Since I never have yorkie before I thought I would like your advice about this. BTW I feed her Innova puppy dry mixed with Merrick can food. Thanks. |

My furkids Donating Member | I have a 5 month old and a 2 1/2 year old Yorkie....I feed them both kibbles mixed with a tiny bit of wet food in the morning and at supper time...I do leave kibbles down for them all the time though...My adult usually won't eat the free kibbles but the puppy will grab a little snack from time to time...

| I can't remember the age Toto was when she "graduated" to two meals a day, but she only gets 1/4 cup total food a day. She gets 1/8 c. in the AM and 1/8 c. in the evening. Mid-morning she gets about 1 T. of fat free cottage cheese. Since she is an absolute couch potato, she is still about 2 - 2 1/2 lbs. overweight so I have to watch every crumb that goes in her mouth!

| Sonysw, I feed my 6 1/2 month old the same food as you. I feed twice a day. She gets Innova puppy in am and pm mixed with a spoonful of Merricks wet. However.........I also leave a small amount of dry food in her bowl all day. Sometimes she eats it and sometimes she doesn't. She weighs just over 3 lbs. She also has never had a hypglycemic episode. I have fed her this way since I got her at 11 weeks, but I left much more dry food out for her before 6 months than I do now. Ellie |

| Riley is 7 1/2 months old & weighs 3lb 5oz. I've had her since she was 7 wks old & I've always fed her twice a day. She gets a little less than 1/3 cup of Nutro Puppy Max a day (about 7:30am & 4pm) & of course she get a treat everytime she goes potty. In the beginning I would give her Nutri Stat right before bed. She's never had a problem. |

| I feed mine 3 times a day on Innova dry and Merrick's and sometimes mix in with Wysong and leave food out for him. He usually finishes everything as he has a hearty appetite so I have to keep track of his "feel the ribs". Oh he is 7 pounds at about 18 weeks old now.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali is 16 months and almost 5 lbs and she gets fed 3 times a day. She had several hypoglycemic episodes when she was young and if I don't feed her at bedtime she throws up by morning.
