| WOW..that was some incision. I have had bitches who needed c-sections, delivery a big litter and not have an incision that large. The vets I have used in the past 10 yrs have sealed the 2 to 3 inch incision shut with surgical glue..the only visable mark hours after surgery is a pink line..it is not even swollen...that photo makes my belly ache looking at it!!!! I am glad it is all over and done..best wishes |

| i think you should first call the doctor personally just in case he misunderstood or something and asked him which one he did, then check with the front desk to see if they made a mistake on the billing...and if it turns out that it wasnt a mistake and they lied then i'd report it to who ever regulates this stuff....not only is it not right to charge you for something you didnt have and lied about it...but especially something as big as a surgery. that's unheard of. and what's up with the staples? |

| I just spoke with my vet's office about spaying Zoe as soon as she finishes her first heat. I did not think to ask about incision size, but we did discuss most everything else. There are three vets together where we go, all graduates of Texas A&M Univ. None of them use laser, no one in our town does, and none of them use staples. They use sutures. One of them is younger and knows how to suture using hidden disolvable sutures so you don't have to go back for removal. Thank you for your post showing your experience. We all need to be educated and know what questions to ask before hand. I definitely asked about suture methods after seeing your baby's staples. Your baby looks healthy, no infection. She'll probably be fine very soon. Wishing you and her the best!! |

| Wow that is a big looking incision - the staples sure look like they hurt. Punkin's just like the second one and she had regular surgery. At first I thought Punkin was going to have an ugly scar - but after a few months you can hardly tell there is even a mark there. I was truly impressed.

| there is no reason a modern vet using a lasar should have butchered baby like that. i would complain. that poor baby had to go thru unnecessary pain and suffering and a longer healing process. this angers me. she is a small dog. an incision that large is insane. her organs are tiny. the cut should be tiny. |

| Wow!! That picture of your furbaby looks like its painful. Poor thing I had lilly spayed at 1 year old, she was 2.5 lbs than. She had stitches that were removed a week later, and her incision wasn't as long as yours, maybe about 3 inches long. Good Luck..... ~lizette |

| Ooooh I cringed out loud when I saw this. Your poor baby! When Emma got spayed her incision was only about 2 inches long. They used just small internal stiches that dissolved and liquid stitch on the outside. It was just regular surgury not laser. Those staples look like they could become caught on stuff. You may want to show this pic to another vet and see what they think. That looks horribly unessecary. Did it take her long to heal?

| The first pic can not be laser ...What i would do is ask for a copy of their operative report ...? I guess they keep one... thats what the human would do .
