| For the past 2 years I have been switching foods for Nina & Coby. They are always scratching. They were on eucanuba, royal canine and now nutro. They're still scratching. My vet says it's allergies and to give them Benadryl, it works for a couple of hours and they're right back to scratching. I also find there coat to be abit dull. Any suggestions? Does anyone give there yorkies homemade food? Chicken or Beef? Also, where can I get that chicken soup everybody is talking about? Please help. |

| Both my full grown male and 10 week old female love Royal Canin mini 28 and Baby mini 30, they eat each others food and at this point I don't care which one they eat as long as they eat some kind of dry food. Artie the male is extremely picky. Abigail eats anything! I have tried every brand of dog food out there and it's the only one the will eat consistently. I was Lucky enough to meet/speak directly with a Royal Canin Representative at Petco some time ago in Redding, CA while visiting. He explained why it's the best for Yorkie's, yeah he was a Rep. but he had a logical explanation. I feel it is the Best for them and made specifically for the Breed. They are very active so what ever extra fat is in there? They can burn off through exercise! |

| it's always good to give them more than just one food all the time because if they're missing any nutrients, they can get it from some other source. they say you should rotate foods that they like. |

| I would move to a single source protein for the itches. Something with say potato and duck or potato and fish. Fish and potato would be my first choice. I think a few brands make these. Wellness has one, flint river does and Natural balance does. I'm not sure if solid gold does or not. Remember you may see some improvement fairly early, like a week. It will more likely take up to 6 weeks for the food change to be in full effect. So if they scratch for a while stick with it for at least a month. Of course that also means don't feed any treats, or anything that isn't the food for those weeks. You can add that back in after you see if it works. It could be something other than food. |

| What is the name of the raw food diet? Also thanks for the comparison food charts. They really are helpful. I guess I have to find them food that doesn't contain corn. I've been doing some reading and it seems that might be the source of their allergies. Thanks again |

| I have to say that I'm a RC fan. Louie had diarrhea a couple of weeks ago (I was feedinghim Eukanuba at the time) and the vet told me to give him chicken and rice-after that he didn't want to touch dry food or any kind of dog food for that matter (even the wet one) until I switched to RC. I tried Innova, solid gold, eukanuba, cesars...all he wanted was chicken! Thank godness I found RC because I was very concerned that he wasn't getting the % of nutrients and fat that he needs during his growing stage. So, I guess everyone will have their personal favorite, I would really just see what works for your particular pup.

| The raw food diet is called BARF or just RAW, most people whom feed RAW prepare it themselves. Natural Balance has come out with a new product RAW food thats in Southern California and Nevada only, don't know if you can order and have it shipped or not. http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/products/RAW.html
