| Diet I feed Chloe' Nutro Ultra Holistic Nutrition for puppies and the line goes up from there...I've heard that putting them on a holistic diet can be good for sensitive tummy's....the kibbles are about the size of a rice grain so it's easy for her to eat. ~Tracy |

I think a lot of people tend to shy away from Science Diet because most of their formulas contain a lot of corn, which is a common allergen for dogs. My vet pushes it, but I have a feeling they get some kind of deal/kickback for selling it! | |

| I Feed my Tiger mostly Innova Puppy Food. These past week, he seemed tired of the same old food so I kinda made it "gourmet" by adding Nature's choice training treats and Bil-Jack Liver treats cut up into small bites and mixing them all up. That seemed to do the trick so now he is eating it all again. I also feed him Innova Health Bars, occassionaly plain carrots, and if I want some peace and quiet, I give him a smoked tendon (not smelly at all and very inexpensive so highly recommend it). I just got the Innova EVO sample pack so I will give start giving that as treats for now. He will eventually switch to this once he is about 8 months old. |

| Baby eats wet and dry Chicken Soup and dry Royal Canin. I've tried others like Nutro, and she doesn't like it as much as CS.

| Both my babies eat Chicken Soup wet mixed with a bit of the dry. It's the only thing that I've been able to get them both to eat consistently. For treats, they get a bit of cottage cheese once in a while. I've made satin balls (which they fight over). They really like those roasted, dehydrated chicken breasts. Maybe a bit of hamburger or chicken from our left-overs.

| Nata Natalie gets Eukanuba puppy food for small breeds. She also gets Eukanuba cookies and I use doggy salmon treats for training only. She gets no human food. I always have to entice her to eat in the morning by hand feeding to get her started. She is slow to wake up and I want her to eat before I go to work.

Thanks for that! I checked and compared it to the wet Chicken Soup and the only thing that I could find in CS was Egg Product. That's okay in my book!

| Zeke's food We've tried quite a few foods for Zeke. The breeder sent us home with Eukanuba, which he will not eat! We then tried Nutro Ultra Holistic, Artemis, Flint River Ranch, Canidae, and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. We have decided on a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of Nutro Ultra Holistic and Chicken Soup as this is what Zeke seems to like best. This combo gives him a good variety, he has nice, regular stools (sorry to be gross), pleasant breath, and a nice, shiny coat. The Flint River Ranch was just too big for him to chew and Artemis and Canidae gave him the most God awful breath! For treats he gets these animal cracker pretzels from Petco made without sugar, chicken bites, cheese, peanut butter, Greenie bits (as a training treat mostly), a carefully supervised rawhide occasionally, and venison bites. He's a rather finicky eater and through trial and error we've found a combination that works for him! Just to put in my two cents worth on some of the issues of this thread, we do not feed Iams, Science Diet, or any department store foods. Our reasoning for this is quality ingredients. Yes, these are animals, but we want our animals to live happy, healthy lives for as long as possible. As humans, we choose to put crap into our bodies on a daily basis, but the key word is CHOOSE. Our pets don't have the opportunity to voice their choices to us, so we have to choose for them. As long as I am making a choice for my beloved pet, I will choose foods that have quality ingredients! I look at the first several ingredients of a food and choose ones that have animals meats, whole grains, and vegetables. I try to stay away from things like corn, fillers, sugar, and white flour. Honestly, our pets eat better than we do because they don't have the opportunity to make the bad choices that we make each day. It's funny really, I would die before I would allow Zeke to drink Dr. Pepper and eat McDonalds, but this is food I put in my body on a weekly basis. I only wish that I had the willpower to make the good decisions for myself that I strive to make for my pets! |
