| Teeth Extractions My older female Biewer had blood work done and a consult for her to get a dental cleaning. I was told that she would need several teeth extracted and I was curious as to if anyone can tell me of their experience with their pup having several extractions done at the same time. Are sutures used? Is extensive bleeding an issue? What about pain meds and antibiotics? Will she want to eat or drink and how long is the recuperation period? Any/all replies would be appreciated☺️.

| Sometimes they need to put sutures in. Depends on the tooth and what the extraction entailed. They give a block so that the pups are not in pain afterwards. I have never had any bleed a lot afterwards. Sometimes they give antibiotics and pain meds...just depends on the extent of what was done and what the vet feels is necessary. They usually give an antibiotic injection if needed. Soft food is always advised for about a week. They are usually eager to eat and drink fairly quickly. Hope all goes well!

| With Callie it depended on the tooth, she had stitches in some and not in others. They did give pain medication. We never had an issue with bleeding in fact my puppy when she had her 2 baby canines pulled when spayed bled more then Callie after extractions. Recovery can depend on the dog a lot. Most of mine have had the normal grogginess the day of and start getting back on their feet the next day. I soaked Callie's dry food and made it mush for her to eat for about a week and then she wanted hard food and was cleared by the vet to start eating it. If those teeth are bothering them they usually feel much better getting them out of there.
