Sometimes they need to put sutures in. Depends on the tooth and what the extraction entailed. They give a block so that the pups are not in pain afterwards. I have never had any bleed a lot afterwards. Sometimes they give antibiotics and pain meds...just depends on the extent of what was done and what the vet feels is necessary. They usually give an antibiotic injection if needed.
Soft food is always advised for about a week. They are usually eager to eat and drink fairly quickly.
