| Is Coconut alright??? I was just wondering if Coconut is alright for our Yorkies to eat? Last weekend I baught a fresh coconut from the store and cracked it open. My two furbabies seemed very interested so i gave them each a tiny piece and they went NUTS. They really loved it, but i didn't give them any more because i didn't know if they could have it. They don't like any fruits and just a few veggies so i was wondering if it's alright to give them some once in awhile

| I have never seen it on a list of things they shouldn't eat. I'd just give them a little. If it doesn't bother them, they can probably have a little more. You probably don't want them to fill up on coconut anyway. Just think of it as a treat. Bet you don't have coconuts very often - do you? I haven't had one in 20 years. Carol Jean |

| Oh Ok, thanks! I actually get them about once a month at the grocery store (i'd rather go to a hot island and pick one off a tree) though.

| We have coconut palms in our yard. Sometimes we break open the coconuts, which is not easy. Sunshine has taken a piece and run with it as if it is a special treasure. She makes you chase her to try to get it. We get it from her but only after she's chewed on it. It didn't bother her but I don't think it's the best thing for her.
