I have never seen it on a list of things they shouldn't eat. I'd just give them a little. If it doesn't bother them, they can probably have a little more. You probably don't want them to fill up on coconut anyway. Just think of it as a treat.
Bet you don't have coconuts very often - do you? I haven't had one in 20 years.
