| Vet Says My Yorkie is Overweight 2 YO, 10 pound Yorkie weighed in at a whopping 12.5 pounds for his annual vet exam. I've been very careful about measuring his food, but upon "interrogation" <g>, my hubby admits to feeding Fabian "small plates" of chicken and blueberries almost daily over the past year while I'm away. We've been told to cut back to 1/4 cup of kibble, twice a day and replace the bully sticks (which he eats, not just gnaws on) with Nylabone. Fabian already gets tons of exercise, so there's not much more we can do on that front. Any other tips and what is a safe rate of weight loss for Yorkies? Thank you. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have one tubby girl also😖 She is now on weight control food and she is veeerrry slowly losing weight. She is very active so I’m hoping the new food will help her slim down over time. She has about 2.2 pounds to go. |

| Thank you. The comments on slow weight loss are surprisingly encouraging, as hubby insists that dog can occasionally "cheat" on his diet and I know he can't. I finally have something in writing to back up my anecdotal knowledge. |

| Do you mind if I ask what kind of weight control food? I may be looking for one for my big girl. |
