We've been told to cut back to 1/4 cup of kibble, twice a day and replace the bully sticks (which he eats, not just gnaws on) with Nylabone. Fabian already gets tons of exercise, so there's not much more we can do on that front.
Any other tips and what is a safe rate of weight loss for Yorkies?

Just wanted to share encouraging words. I think you're on the right path. My 7 lb-er once got up to 10 lbs. My mom was giving him cheese every time he went in the kitchen.

I had a strong talking to with my family, and we got him back down to a healthy 6.5-7 lbs.
