| Inflammatory Bowel Disease advice? Hi, My dog and I have really been through hell for the last 4 months. She was in and out of the vets every week, had multiple blood test and many days on a drip. Finally, last week she was referred to a specialist in my country who diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel disease (also, she has pancreatitis). In a way it was good news because now we have an answer. But I'm still incredibly worried about her. She is a "fussy" eater (I hate that term) who only eats what she wants to eat. She lost 20% of her body weight over the last few months due to this illness. She has been put on a low fat, hypoallergenic diet which will help her tummy but won't help her put on weight I bought her kangaroo, ostrich and wild boar meat....so far she's not a fan of kangaroo meat. I guess I'm hoping to hear from others in this situation. How is your dog being treated? How long did it take to see some recovery? Thank you |

| Our second yorkie Keally had genetic ibd which was awful. Every month she had to go in and have her albumin checked with a blood test. We fed her Hills Prescription Diet ID and I gave her Prescription Hills Diet ZD for treats. She did very well on this diet and lived to twelve and a half years which was good for her condition. We never gave her any table scraps either. I hope your baby does well.Susan |

| Mine was diagnosed a couple years ago and has had great success with Royal Canin Hydrolyzed prescription food. It’s caused by allergies so it’s best to use a food with a man made protein unless you do a food trial to find out what they are allergic to but you risk flaring in up bad when you do that. Two different times mine has had to get fluids but luckily never hospitalized.
