| Tummy Gurgles? Hello All! This is my second thread on Yorkie Talk. Can someone talk to me about “tummy gurgles”? Cookie is 8 months old. Last week she had her first vet visit ever. She seemed pretty good, except for a cough and some intermittent tummy noises that were happening the previous day. It sounds almost like a stomach growl from hunger, but she’s not hungry. By vet visit day, the tummy noises were gone, and the vet wasn’t too concerned. Throughout the tummy noise day, she was happy, energetic, and ate and pooped normally. The vet put her on 10 days of amoxicillin for the cough. We are on day 6, and she’s seemed to tolerate it well. Fast forward to this morning- the gurgles are back! She’s eating her food, just had a normal poop, and is acting like it doesn’t bother her in the slightest. She’s in my lap, chewing on her terry cloth toy and just squeaking and rumbling away. My Chihuahua would do this occasionally, and it was completely different- she would be clearly stressed and uncomfortable, and we’d give her medicine and a few days of bland food. Cookie is acting like it’s not even happening. Any advice? Could this be a food issue? She came to us on NutriSource Puppy Formula, but we are willing to switch her. Thank you all |

| It might be from the antibiotics.

I wonder whether it's possible that she swallowed some air, either with her food or with her water, and that's causing the gurgling. Our Bella never had problems with gurgling, but on occasion, if she eats or drinks too quickly, she will burp afterwards. | |

| Thanks guys! Within 2 hours, it had stopped again. I’m also wondering if it’s either the antibiotics, or if maybe when she wakes up hungry she eats too fast and swallows air. I’m glad y’all don’t think it’s the food... I’d hate to need to change her this soon, and I’d imagine she’d be gurgling all the time if it was a food allergy... |

| Hey. My Maya also has stomach noises once in a while that will last for a day. I just believe that like people, also dogs can get upset stomach. As for eating fast, Bella my other yorkie used to be like that so I used to go to the basement and spread her food all over the floor like that she had to eat one at a time. After a few months she stopped eating so fast |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She never had giardia or anything correct...? If this continues, do try to capture this sound on your phone's video so the vet can actually hear what you're hearing. You could try picking up some Benebac from Petsmart or Petco and give that a round for about a week.
