YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Oops I meant to say 9% fat. The dry food im trying is 16% fat. It's life's abundance. I hope that is not too much fat. Even little yokes eat this food. |

| ![]() You are switching food again? Be careful! If you want kibble, I suggest you go with the ID that has been working!

| ![]() Sandy, it does seem like you switch food quite a lot. I'm all for a rotation diet for dogs who thrive on that and can handle it but even those who rotate usually just go between flavors within the same brand or have 2-3 brands they rotate between. It's hard to get a real grasp of how well a food is working for at least a few months. It seems you don't give anything enough time and also deal with tummy issues sometimes. If ID works, just wondering why you don't stick with that?

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I should listen to the vet and just feed the wet id. I read about this food and wonder if it's best to feed long term. Protein 5%. I try to find the best food. I've read good results with life's abundance so I started that. I can't go raw. Scared of them getting sick. I am on line a lot reading reviews. I appreciate anybody that loves dogs and takes time to search out good food for them. Thank you for taking time to respond. Yorkie talk people are dog lovers and really care about them. |

There is nothing wrong with Hill's ID! It bothers me so much to see people like you afraid to give what is good for their pets just based on some internet person who decided one day he could make a living basically BSing people. The only thing I can tell you is that the next time you read an article about dog food rankings be sure to look up the author of the article and his/her credentials....also look for real scientific data that back their claims. There is an inordinate amount of false claims about dog foods on the internet...the ones that bash RX foods infuriate me.

Years ago, when I was a dog food “purist” I might have scoffed at the ID food but now that I understand the reasoning behind it I totally get it, and we will continue with the plan. We tried the wet food also, it is smelled so bad (to me) and it would get messed up in her long thick hair sometimes. Got to go with what he doc’s sa ynis best for her health until the day I finish vet school (which will not be soon!) .

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I phoned the vet to see if 16% fat is too much. She said yes. Stick with the 9%. So there goes life's abundance food. I have a bag of the dry id. 22% protein 11%fat. Guess I better use that. I wonder why royal can in sells sensitive stomach dog food with a 20% fat ratio. I bet most people don't research dog foods. Dog gets pancreatitis. We should be aware of what we feed our dogs and avoid sickness. Some say vets don't know nutrition. This is a sharp vet who knows her stuff. Many thanks again for your help and concern. I have been so overwhelmed by all the dog food info I've read. |
