| Wet puppy food - how long before it goes bad? Hi, I have a 11 weeks old puppy. We got him 8 days ago from his breeder and he's been adjusting well The only challenge we've been having is on trying to make him eat dog food. Looks like the breeder got him used to eating chicken and fish so he's been super picky with his food. We've been experimenting different tricks to make him eat his food (Royal Canin Mini Puppy) and he's finally starting to eat it. One tip that I read and seemed to have worked is to add some warm water to make it softer. My only concern with that is that it might go bad sooner. Has anyone done the same? How long can I safely leave the wet food before it goes bad? Thanks! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Also try sprinkling powdered Parmesan Cheese onto the food to make it more enticing for him - the cheese smells nice and enticing. Leave the wet food out for 15mins or so - if he's not interested - put in tupperware back in fridge -- and you could try putting it out for him a few more times throughout the day; you can keep for at least a day in there.
