We've been experimenting different tricks to make him eat his food (Royal Canin Mini Puppy) and he's finally starting to eat it.

One tip that I read and seemed to have worked is to add some warm water to make it softer. My only concern with that is that it might go bad sooner. Has anyone done the same? How long can I safely leave the wet food before it goes bad?

Thanks!
I would discard any food that is uneaten at the end of the day and clean the food bowl with soap and water each night.
