| Indigestion? Indigestion can have many symptoms. Do you have any specifics in mind and then perhaps I could better comment. Good question if definite kinds of symptoms are specified. Thank you. |

He can go for several months with nothing, then have these spells for 2 or 3 days, with no diet changes. There is really no rhyme or reason to these episodes.

| Indigestion Thank you for clarifying your question. First I am sorry your baby is having these issues. Vomiting foam and bile can often be due to an empty stomach. My boy used to do this early in the morning after a long fast. I solved this by feeding him a light meal before he goes to bed. Also my vet suggested Pepcid at night. These two solutions seem to have cured the issue. Also feeding more frequent smaller meals may suit him better. Also the dog may have gastric reflux that has many causes. I have found that if my dog is stressed, sometimes he tends to throw up bile and foam. But usually he will eat and be ok afterwards. If he is really sick he will not eat. Of course you might get your dog seen and tested by the vet in case he has some underlying issue such as pancreatitis. Some dogs are very sensitive to rich food, people food, or treats that can upset them. My dog had one minor bout of pancreatitis and ever since I have fed him only Hills Prescription ID Low Fat kibble or canned food and either no treats or very low fat treats. Since then he has been fine. So really I would suggest a vet visit to rule out any health reason, and also note when and what he throws up and what happened beforehand to see if there is a pattern. But of course probably your dog is fine and just gets something that his tummy does not like now and again. Good luck, and please let us know how he is doing. Reflux is not uncommon in dogs. For that, you give 5-10mg Pepcid twice a day. Works great. Article: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...wallowing.html

And it seems he purps so much all times of the day.

So every time he does vomit, I'm on pins & needles. Just wondering if indigestion could be an issue also. He hasn't vomited now in 3 days. Thank goodness.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yeah, if there is burping, I'd really try the Pepcid...you could ask your vet to okay it first...

| Indigestion I have 2 Yorkies 7 years old. Both have issues with throwing up or diarrhea. One was in hospital for 3 days with pancreatitis. I get so nervous when I see them not feeling well because I know it is a trip to the vet. They are on Special food for digestive issues but it does not seem to be helping. This started when they turned 6. My vet gives them something for nausea and sometimes antibiotics which he just finished but he threw up again yesterday. Can anyone give me advice? I feed them no people food at all and one low fat treat a day. I love them and get so upset when they get like this. |

| Indigestion So sorry you are having issues with your babies. It s scary to have a dog with pancreatitis. I would say that perhaps you might read my post above, number 4, if u have not already so I don't repeat myself too much. But I must reiterate that the frequent small meals plus the prescription Hills ID Low Fat and Pepcid have been very effective for keeping my dog well. I assume that tests have not shown any germs, allergies, or parasites? Strange if both dogs get GI symptoms at once. Or could it be that the food they are on has changed in some way that now disagrees with the dogs? My dog is eight yrs old by the way. I hope that they feel better soon and that a reason for their sensitivities is found and they can be made well again. Good Luck. :-) |

| Indigestion Thank you for your reply. I will give them the Pepcid and I will give them smaller portions of food. I forgot to mention that all bloodwork comes back perfect which I'm thankful for. Both do not get sick at the same time. I mistyped that. They are brother and sister and no health issues with their parents at all. So I'm hoping that the smaller portions will help along with the Pepcid. Thank you. |

| Thumper will at times have the hiccups not terrible. I just let it pass because it doesn't last for more than a few minutes
