| Wet Food Only Hello I have a 7 year old Yorkie. She is about 5 pounds and has always been on a Wet/Dry Mix. Recently she will absolutely not eat the dry mix. I don't feel comfortable only having her on Wet food. I have always used wet food just as an incentive. I call it 'burger king for dogs'. Cause it's garbage. Anyways I started to ween her off the wet/dry mix onto something called OC Raw Dog. Its basically Freeze dried raw food. Its very soft, you can break it into pieces with just your thumb and index finger. You can add water to it to make a soupy mix or just leave it freeze dried so when she bites it goes to crumbs. This is very important because she is so small she has a hard time getting through normal kibble. It seems like a dream come true. It is as holistic as it gets with no fillers or anything. She absolutely loves this stuff. Has anyone used this before? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yeah, freeze dried raw has been around for a very long time now. That's how I started on raw, about 8 years ago now. I just feed raw now, not freeze dried...much cheaper and fresher. Btw, wet food isn't really crap food. Kibble is the most processed / least fresh of all dog foods. So, it's technically got a whole lot of advantages over dry. Dry is processed to the nth degree. Raw is an awesome way to feed! Everything gets used/digested - instead of just poo'd out, like what can happen w/ kibble/canned etc.

| If I could afford it, I'd feed primarily canned food over dry. It's too $$$ for my 18lb and 16lb dogs lol. But I think it's superior. Less processed, less carbs, etc. I feed Weruva canned food mixed in with our dry food (usually Acana or Orijen Senior). Freeze dried can be great. It also tends to be pricier which is why I haven't fed it. Some can be high in fat too (which isn't always bad but the breed can be prone to pancreatitis sometimes).

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would just go with a brand you respect. What about Wellness, Natures Variety, Natural Balance, Solid Gold....?
