| Our Bichon (passed at 17 1/2) had problems and she was on Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potato, she loved it. Sissy occasionally has problems ad we just give her probiotics that we get from Petco.

| Yorkie Yakker | Thanks for your reply. Once we get little Mya's tummy calmed down I think I'm going to give the Natural Balance a try. It's so hard when these little ones are not feeling well.....

I was shock about it, do you take your dog to the vet for some check up?Diarrhea is one of the common issue of having a sensitive stomach, I have read some article about the dog food for dogs with sensitive stomachs and it was really work for me, just like you, that is my problem before that's why I end up searching with this article and it really useful for me hope it will help you too. |

| Yorkie Yakker | Yes, of course I took her to the vet. The problem is that once her stool becomes firm and I try to reintroduce her regular food, the diarrhea starts up again. So today I will find out the latest test results. If this is JUST a sensitive stomach issue then I need to find a new food for Mya; ONE THAT SHE WILL EAT. I'm trying to do that.

| We have a 4 and a 5 pound yorkie. They like Nutro Organic Lamb with Potato. We mix the can and the dry small bites. The 8yr old has always tended toward diarrhea. Thinking of trying Fromm, heard good things about it. Their diet now is strictly grain-free. Dealing now with some hair loss. |

| Scottie had a really bad case of diarrhea last month and ended up having to go into the emergency. It was nothing too serious and his vet the next day diagnosed him to have eaten something bad (i.e. not a blockage or disease thankfully). His vet prescribed him Fortiflora until his stool "firmed up". He's always had a very sensitive stomach since a puppy. But, after his stool firmed up, it didn't look like his regular poop anymore. I kept using the Fortiflora, but it didn't change his strange-looking poop. Forgive me for the tmi-description, but it looked like extruded soft play dough. The ends weren't rounded like the healthy stuff. I thought his GI was permanently damaged. This lasted for two weeks. So then, I decided to stop the Fortiflora and started giving him a little sprinkle of human acidophilus over his water-soaked kibble; I've been soaking his kibble since, so that it's easier on his stomach for digestion. I have acidophilus capsules where you can open it and inside is in powder form. I used to do this for my past dog as well, as an alternative to the dog probiotics products. From what I understand, probiotics made specifially for dogs have other good bacteria in it; the human acidophilus is just one type of the good bacteria. Anyway, after about a week, his poop finally returned to the normal consistency of healthy stool! So...soaking the kibble and sprinkling acidophilus works well for Scottie for his digestion.

| Hi ![]() Just wondering, did you try a new bag of food when you were reintroducing the food? Maybe the bag was bad. ![]() Mickey (Yorkie) loves the Acana food. Especially fish flavor. The pieces are bigger if that is a problem. Max (Morkie) is more sensitive and eats Natural Balance Potato and Duck. The Natural Balance Limited ingredient foods are usually good for sensitive tummys. It helped with Max.

| I have used pediatric probiotics mixed into whatever I could coax the little one to eat (cooked ground meat with brown rice works well) with great success. The smell of cooking food helps get the appetite going. The probiotics help the gut get back to normal. It may take a longer course to really heal soundly and then a very gradual return to normal diet. If you are going to change the diet it must be done very, very slowly while the digestive system is working normally. Just do not rush into either. Keep your dog on a very bland diet with probiotics for a few weeks then slowly start adding the food you have chosen. |

| I totally agree adding 1 tsp canned pumpkin daily helps with good digestion cuz it is high in fiber. My Yorkie likes pure pac heartland chicken grain free and he doesn't have trouble with the kibble size cuz it is kinda flat pieces. He weighs 9 lbs. |
