| Taste of the Wild? Do any of you feed your babies this food? My cousin feeds her lab this food, and i have NEVER seen a dogs coat shine so much in my life!!!! I feel like I need to get our girls on something a little more expensive for the obvious reasons....i'm currently feeding Iams..... Thanks!!!!!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feel Primal or NV. But for kibble, I recommend Natures Logic the most....venison flavor.

| TOTW is a hit-or-miss food, I find. I do see quite a few dogs who seem to do well on it and it's also very budget friendly. It is made by Diamond pet foods who had issues a while back so I know some people don't like them but I've heard of some folks who feed TOTW and tried to switch but nothing else works for their dog! So in that case, it's a perfect food for that dog. I used to drive myself crazy about dog food and now I've turned into a "whatever works for you and your dog" person more than ever. I still wouldn't touch certain foods with a ten foot pole (Moist n Meaty anyone?! Beneful?! LOL... gross...) *but* I'm no longer a dog food snob. I know a lot of folks who feed purina or Iams and I don't see poor results so I guess who am I to judge as long as the dog is being fed a balanced meal? I do personally feed Acana for the most part because it's what Jax has eaten for years off and on and what he always does the best on. Every once in a while I switch it up just because.. whether it's a good deal, a coupon, or what store I'm at, so sometimes he eats Purina Beyond (if I need dog food in a pinch), or like now he's eating Go! duck because I got a good deal on it, but his main staple food is Acana and I see the best results on that.

| I fed my very allergic wheaten terrier TOTW- fish only!- for quite a few years- we got caught in two recalls and it became hard to get so I switched to Earthborn Holistics and didn't switch back. The TOTW people were very helpful and if I had a big dog I would probably feed TOTW (fish or lamb). Lucy, my wheaten and Ziva , my only yorkie at the time were also the shiniest dogs around- I find the Earthborn equal altho I think they look a little better on the fish formula.(we are switching back, I think the fish breath is worth it) |

| The primary recall issues From diamond were specific to their plant on the eastern side of the United States, the west coast plant did not have the same level of issues. Taste of the wild is very popular out in my area. The kibble would be much too large for my little teeny. There are a lot of fish oil supplements available too if you were wanting to get more coat shine. I had a hard time settling on a food for my girl, many did not settle well with her. Royal canin worked well for us- not the Yorkshire terrier one but the mini adult kibble but we are currently on natural balance duck and potato small breed.

Yorkie Talker | tried it, but tried it months ago, but my dogs didn't really like the taste of it. They smelled it and seemed like eating but they just went for the original food bowl that they used to eat. I guess you could try, but the preference might differ among dogs. |

| I started Blazer off on TOTW but then discovered it had the same formula as Premium Edge which I was feeding my GSP, so I switched him to that as well. When we moved I couldn't find anyone who carried Premium Edge in stock so I researched some more and found out that Diamond Naturals from Menards is the SAME product! So now I buy that for both of my boys and they do great on it. It is awesome that I can get a 40# bag for under $30 (usually) and that it is a great food for them. My GSP, Buddy, is almost 11 and I've fed him MANY different foods over the years, I tried all the expensive "super premium quality" foods and they didn't work for him. They were far too rich and he always had super soft or loose stools. I finally hit on TOTW/Premium Edge/Diamond Naturals (and I had originally vowed never to feed him Diamond products!) and I'm so glad I did. I truly believe in feeding your animals the absolute best food that you can afford and that their systems can handle.

| I feed TOTW. My little Yorkie does best on it and her coat is beautiful. My Maltese does well on whatever I feed her. She has had Purina Pro Plan, TOTW, raw, all kinds.

| It's been fine for my puppy! My breeder had my Duncan on TOTW puppy formula so I've just continued it and he's doing very well. He's just 12 weeks now but his coat looks very nice. I'm concerned though that it's a Diamond product as I've heard of their recalls in the past. I also have to order it on the internet because I can't find it locally. The puppy kibble is very small so that's been perfect.

| It's not a bad food. Not the absolute best either, but it's a huge step up from iams. I personally feed Acana to my dogs. |

| I started using TOTW when we adopted a dog with a chicken allergy. I tried several brands of dry food, and this is the one they like the best. I alternate between the Pacific Stream (mostly fish) and the Lamb formula for about 4 years now. |
