| Found Bones Again! This time in Primal's Rabbit frozen nuggets...& it is HUGE! I know bones are supposed to be in there, but I don't feel comfortable when they're this big... Not sharp, but still pointy. DSCN2898.jpg Next to the dime...DSCN2899.jpg Look how thick it is! DSCN2902.jpg Looks like a tooth of some kind! Someone that feeds raw meaty bones, is this OK for the dogs? I know that their stomach is able to digest the bones in the acid bath, but pointy bones like this will not puncture their esophagus or stomach?

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I feed Galen the freeze dried bunny . . . I would really be upset if it is a tooth . . Teeth are the only thing that can not be digested. . Even with pigs ! I got a funny story. . We were brought up eating rabbit and other strange foods. My dad is Italian We were little kids, me and 2 sisters. I was about 5-6. . . My grandfather came home with two chickens and a big white bunny. . .so three little girls .. . What do they do. . . You got it. . Name the bunny. . .we wanted to get a collar and leash and take it for walks. Few days later. The chickens and bunny were gone. And we were having rabbit for dinner ! . We were upset. Well my mom had to go out and buy boxed rabbit for us because we would not eat it. She had two plates of rabbit. One of fluffy and the other with the box kind, ( my mom would make it like fried chicken) LOL still to this day it is a funny story. But hey we were little

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | So weird that you're finding large chunks. I've never had to pick any out. I would run these by Primal and see what they say. Even though the larger one is quite thick, it doesn't look too pointy to me (?)...so it probably wouldn't be one that would bother me too much - but still, I can see why you're concerned.

| I don't know about Primal but Natures Variety's rabbit comes from China. That is a no no for me. All other meats come from the U.S. or New Zealand.

| Primal's response Good Afternoon Jenny, Those do look large to me. Just to err on the safe side, would you mind potentially returning the product to your retailer to exchange for a bag from a different date code (which should not be afflicted by the same issue) or your money back, once I can authorize that transaction for you? In the meantime, I’ll bring the issue to the attention of our operations manager so that he can take it up with production to make sure that the proper die plates are being used. If they are, there should be no reason that product bigger than an eighth of an inch should pass through. However, if they used the wrong die plate, that would explain the presence of these larger bone fragments. In order to get you an exchange or a return, I’ll just need to know at what retailer you purchased your product. Once I receive that, I’ll reach out to them to authorize the exchange or return for you with them, whichever you prefer. Thanks, as always for your time and interest in Primal, and extra thanks especially for keeping us in the loop on your experience. Please always feel free to reach out again any time and I will be happy to assist you. I look forward to hearing from you again shortly. Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Jenny, I am glad you received a quick response. And they are going to replace the bag. And make sure it is not going to happen again. . I love their product and will continue using it.

| Wow! We always check Sachi's food before we give it to her and we have never seen anything like this. It did seem like Primal was concerned and hopefully it won't happen again!

| Nature's Variety does not source Any of their rabbit from China anymore. not since beginning of this year. It now comes from France. You can confirm this on their FaceBook Page. |

| What a fast and excellent response! I love to see that. We raise meat rabbits at our house and I used to process them and grind the meat up and manage the raw meaty bones for my best friend/roommates dog (oh yeah, he totally helped too!) and man it was a lot of work! Pre made raw is intriguing, his dog was way too big for that to be an affordable option. Lilah has never really been inclined to raw anything but she is very very picky and I can't imagine doing the raw bones thing with her and all that hair! And they just want to drag it all over your house- I am curious how y'all raw bone feeders manage that issue? It was a difficult issue in our house. It is great to see companies with awesome customer service.
