2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | HELP Fleas Infested / Need input on using Confortis !! Well our Flea Infestation continues, my family and I and our pups are going nuts. We've tried Pet Armor, Frontline plus and now Vet Gard and none of them are working. I've bathed them a couple of times, treated them with the Frontline Plus and now it seems as if it made things worse. There are more fleas than there were before I applied it. All of my pups are Yorkies, never every had this issue before. We have never really had to use any preventative before. We only ever had just a few here and there nothing we couldn't handle but Wow this is just crazy awful !! They are now in our carpet so I have a flea trap set up. I vacuumed and cleaned all the dog beds. Now I am forced to confine the dogs to the kitchen until I can get this under control. Comfortis is suppose to be some metrical worker for fleas and treat against the live/adult fleas only for up to a month. It cost $16 per pill at my vets office. Need input on using Comfortis and where to purchase ?

| I use Comfortis on 2 of my 3 girl's. I can't with Luci since she is ony 3 lbs. I have never had a problem using it. What you need to do is most possibly have a professional come in and treat your house and yard to get rid of the flea's.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Fleas are a pain. I used revolution and was very happy with it. If you use borax soap , sprinklet it on your carpet and immediately vacumn it up, it is supposed to kill fleas. DO Not let off bombs. Poison. Dogs lick it and get very sick. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Thank you for the input . . I went ahead and purchased it. Gosh 6 pills for $90 w/ a $10 rebate. But if it will make my babies feel better and give us all some peace its definitely worth it. My vet says to rotate the Confortis and the Frontline every other two weeks. SO keeping my fingers crossed that this will do the job.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Oh of course I would never use foggers that's some nasty stuff. I don't need anything harmful to my babies in my home. I have never heard of using borax.. the light flea trap seems to be working. I may need to move it into the other rooms for a few days also to rid them of the roaming fleas.

| You need to get the fleas treated in your home or yard or else you'll never get rid of them. I have a pest control company come out and spray the yard and house quarterly. I also use Trifexis monthly for his flea/tick/heartworm control. |

| We use revolution and we have no fleas which is very important since we have a senior weenie with horrible flea allergies. We also treat our yard and use d earth frequently. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | We are doing our best to keep them under control and rid then in our home without having to use harmful chemicals. In less than 12 hrs there are 24 dead fleas in the trap, its just crazy/ I just swept the entire house and the dog beds yesterday afternoon. The yard will have to wait until there is no rain in the forecast. We are expecting rain for the next few days. I gave them the Comfortis last night around 9 pm than checked them for fleas around 12am. They all had some fleas so I picked them off and killed them. Things have been pretty calm today but still showing signs of fleas. (itching) Did I mention how much I HATE fleas !!

| How big are your dogs? Bc I give mine half a pill only and it works. I agree Comfortis is way expensive. Uni has terrible flea allergies too. Even if she gets one she will scratch herself raw. We have not had a single flea since we started using it. I only give in summer months now, and even then not every month.

| When I used frontline plus, the direction says to apply once a month for 3 consecutive months...then just for fleas, re-apply every 3 months. For ticks, re-pply once a month. Frontline Plus always worked for us, but for some people in other states, it wasn't working...something about the fleas growing immune to the Fipronil, the active ingred in frontline. Hope you'll find something that works...they hide inside the carpets, cracks & crevices.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | From my understanding, after you vacuum you need to empty the bag outside, as they can reinvest your house through the vacuum. Never had fleas, but we bought a pound dog once who had them. A flea dip worked fine, but the vet also said you have to watch tapeworms, as fleas can give tapeworms, if the dog eats the flea.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Yes, give the pill than two weeks later apply frontline, two weeks than give a pill and so on. So its turns out being once a month for each medication. Quote:
Yes, I am noticing that. They are hiding in the carpet where I have the flea trap set up. I can see them burring themselves. So I am going to try the borax and sweep again giving special attention to the area where they spend most of their time. I'll have to do the kitchen too since I hate to say this where they are still being held until I don't see any more fleas in the flea strap . . . MY POOR Babies !! Quote:
Great tip Nancy... I was wondering what to do with it or if they are still alive in the tank of my Dyson. Update: Things have gotten a little better for the pup pups . . I checked them and didn't see not ONE flea. On the other hand the main living area has so so many. I just one 24 hrs period I counted 35 fleas in the trap. I emptied that and than less than 2.5 hrs there were 12. Grrrrr !! On a good note . . the flea trap in the den has not one. Moving it into the kitchen so see what the results are there. Sad to say the I don't know whether is a good idea to let the pups out of the kitchen or not. I fear that they will become infested again since they are clearly there and very noticeable. Mainly around the trap.... or not that they are on the "PILL" is it safe to let them out? What do you all think???
