| ![]() My vet put Hannah on apoquel a few weeks ago. She has been on temiril for years now but it will do long term damage to her. Apoquel is not a steroid and it will be better for her in the long run. It seems to have cut down on the scratching and gnawing at her legs. My question to other yorkie owners is that her back legs have been very red some time now. The vet said it was due to inflammation and hoped the beginning double-dose of the apoquel would allieviate it somehow. Does anyone else experience this with their dogs and have any suggestions? |

I really hope the Apoquel works for you - allergies are so terribly frustrating ![]()

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() If you don't mind my asking, how much is the Apoquel, as compared to Atopica? I've heard from some that it's more reasonable...Atopica ain't cheap, that's for sure.

| ![]() Thanks for the advice. I've seen her start to go for her leg and then stop. Hopefully she'll be able to lay off of it enough that the inflammation will go down. |

| ![]() Apoquel 3.6 mg is $39 for 20 tabs. But, my George is to take 1/4 of a tab so it is definitely less than Atopica. Atopica 15ct is $40.58 here.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Thank you! Yup, I think it'd be cheaper than Atopica here too. It's nice for once that a newer med is cheaper than Atopica. Will he have to take it every day...or is it like Atopica where the goal is to take it 2-3x per week?

| ![]() Ann do you use the Atopica liquid? We pay $35 for a two month supply of Atopica for cats, and daisy is on a 5 lb dose every day to every other day.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Wow, I didn't even know there was a liquid! I've never been given the option. Do you like it better? Actually a liquid wouldn't be a bad idea for us since Marcel is so small and we technically slightly over-dose him bc of his weight...although he does fine on the slightly large dose. We use the pills and I give it Tues and Thursday. I think we pay about $35 for a box.

![]() ![]() I'm really curious about the Apoquel...when some pollens are off the charts here, we have some breakthrough symptoms for Marcel...a little paw licking/chewing. It's not *bad*, but it does make me wonder if Apoquel is worth a try.
