White sweet potato???

So I bought a sweet potato today for my fur baby and when I peeled it.. It was white?! I've never seen this kind of sweet potato before.. Is this okay to feed my yorkie and does it have the same nutrients as an orange sweet potato?

I make sweet potato chips for ZoE every other week. I've never seen a white sweet potato either! I googled it and it says they are less sweet and more starchy than the regular orange kind.

I just tasted it to make sure it's not a regular potato and it's REALLY sweet! I think it's a Japanese sweet potato but this is definitely the first time seeing a white one!

I use that kind a lot...they sell them at the Asian grocery store and I've also gotten them at Whole Foods...yummy and very sweet! I don't think they contain the beta carotene or as much vitamin A like you'd find in a normal orange sweet potato but they're still nutritious and have good fiber. I put them in Toki's home cooked food as a base. My mom makes this recipe with the white/yellow flesh sweet potatoes...it's a common side dish served in Korean restaurants too. I definitely prefer the texture of them to the orange ones.

I agree that they're really good! Chloe loved them too, she didn't leave even 1 piece in the plate!! I gave it with boiled carrot, I wouldn't think dogs would like carrots but she thinks it's a treat.. Celery not so much though, she spits that out haha
