| So glad all went well. It can take a few days for them to get the anesthesia out of their systems, and the pain meds can make them feel weird too. Glad she's getting back to her old self. Anesthesia can cause them to have potty accidents too for a few days to a week afterwards, but all should return to normal soon.

Thank you! I created a new thread about my anesthesia concerns before reading your post. She has a couple of weird traits that have developed since she came home, and I am concerned that they won't go away after she completes her meds. | |

I felt that Jackson's teeth were 'bad' enough last year to warrant a dental. I had really slacked on brushing, etc, and I just wanted a fresh clean slate. The vet agreed they could use one, but it wasn't something in DIRE need. She had seen pups a lot worse. But I was very glad I did it. No teeth had to be pulled, but it was worth it. Here are before and afters:

| Annie supposedly had a dental cleaning 6/12...we rescued her 8/12. Took her to the vet 9/12 and her breath was horrendous then....vet said cleaning done 6/12 was probably not thoroughly done. I couldn't stand her breath any longer and took her for her cleaning. Was surprised to learn that she had 2 loose teeth. I plan to brush her teeth daily once everything is healed to try to keep the plaque at a minimum. She's not much of a chewer so bones/toys won't help. I sure hope she lets me brush her teeth! |

| The dental is done now...but if a sealant was not used, perhaps you can use one anyway. The board certified dentist I use highly recommends Ora Vet sealant. It was used on three of my pups...my George had a dental in Sept and his teeth look better than ever! She told me it was a combo of everything but that most is the sealant!! You might want to ask your vet about it. It is easy to apply.
