Honestly just pay close attention, carefully exam her mouth/teeth area, ask for the vets opinion.
I felt that Jackson's teeth were 'bad' enough last year to warrant a dental. I had really slacked on brushing, etc, and I just wanted a fresh clean slate. The vet agreed they could use one, but it wasn't something in DIRE need. She had seen pups a lot worse. But I was very glad I did it. No teeth had to be pulled, but it was worth it.
