Annie has a dental cleaning today I'm so anxious about Annie having a dental cleaning today. My sweet little girl has such separation anxiety that I am worried how she will react when I have to leave the office without her. Ok....maybe I am more concerned how Mom will react when she has to leave her baby!! :D ugh...... Would greatly appreciate some prayers for my little sweetheart. |
Prayers being said for Annie (and mom). Let us know how the cleaning went. |
sending many prayers for annie for a safe and successful procedure. |
Aww...I do know how hard it is to leave them and some are worse than others. I have one who cries and it breaks my heart, but sometimes she just has to go. I am sure Annie will be fine. :) Will definitely pray for her! Please let us know how things go. |
Jackson is extremely nervous at vets, groomers, etc. He expresses his anal glands he gets so scared. So I feel awful handing him over. He hated me for about 24 hours after his dental but then he was fine! :) |
Hoping all went well today for Annie... |
Hope things went well today! I have this scheduled for next week along with a spay…. |
I like the others here know just what you are going through. It's AWFUL to leave them there at the vet facing general anesthesia and drive away and then to wait so anxiously for that phone call that the procedure is over and the baby is awake! I hope she's home and fine now and it's all behind you both and that you two are cuddled up together right now. Update us when you get the chance. |
Just checking in to see how Annie's dental went yesterday. |
Teddy Bear is a nervous mess any time we aren't with him. I feel so bad leaving him for his dental. I hope all went well. |

Good Morning! I wish I could hug each and every one of you! Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words. When I dropped Annie off, the tech went over the options of anesthesia and I chose the mask rather than the IV. I didn't want her to have too many needle sticks! I chose blood work and since I am working with a behaviorist to help potty train her, I needed to make sure she didn't have any type of urinary infection. As I handed her to the tech, she gave me her terrified look, and I thought I was going to come unglued! With her being a rescue, I have terrible thoughts of what she has experienced in her short 4 years and I don't want to add to that or have her feel like she is being abandoned again. They called and said that everything went well. They extracted two teeth and also discovered that she has three missing teeth. Her bladder was too small so they couldn't get a urine sample, but they sent her home on Clavamox and Tramadol for pain. I chuckled to myself when they brought her out. She looked like Albert Einstein! Her hair on her head was standing straight up and the hair around her muzzle was plastered to her face. She was a mess, but she was my sweet little mess! Her personality seemed so different when we got home. I put her in her potty area and she peed, but when I took her upstairs to the family room, she peed on the floor. When we went to bed, she sleeps on her own pillow between my hubby and I, and she acted like she had no idea where to sleep. She also would moan when you petted her. I'm sure this was all due to anesthesia and not feeling well. Today, she seems to be getting back to her old self, thank goodness! Again, I just want to thank all of you for your prayers and kind words. Annie thanks you too! Hugs, Katheleen PS sorry for the long post :-) |
Thanks for the update!!! Happy to hear that all went well. |
I am very happy to hear Annie's dental cleaning went well and that she is home. Leaving the doggies at the vet is so hard for me, so I can relate to your worries. |
I'm so happy to hear that Annie did well and is back home! Thanks for the update! |
