| Ken-L-Ration! Hadn't thought about it for years! And of course Purina. I wonder if it's been around since the earth began! I remember seeing both being advertised on TV back in the old days!

| Okay, I don't think I'm violating any laws by posting the link to the PDF of his book chapter on the 9 best commercial foods, because the link comes up in public search engines, so here it is: http://ebookbrowse.com/confidential-...-pdf-d96866008 It is well worth reading, not only because of the list of foods, but because it contains a lot of nutritional information as well. |

| I found it very interesting. It is scary to think that dog food is so bad for our babies. I am seriously thinking about home cooking.

| I thought the term he used was "acceptable", not "as good as".

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | [quote=pstinard;4257305]I don't want to get anyone in trouble, so I won't post the 9 commercially available foods that meet the author's requirements for canine nutrition, but I'm happy to say that I am currently feeding Bella one of them. If you do enough googling, you can find the list--it took me about 5 minutes.[/qu very interesting.

| If I am looking at this correctly, this report was written April, 2011. Wonder if any of the foods have been added or deleted from the list since then.

Red Flag Ingredients They also mention menadione elsewhere on their website because it is banned for use in human foods due to liver toxicity. | |
