Dogfoodadvisor follows a lot of the same recommendations, such as avoiding foods containing BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, and menadione, as well as certain types of meat byproducts, grains, and eggs. I think the best thing to do is to carefully read the ingredient list for your dog food and keep the list of bad ingredients in mind. They also mention menadione elsewhere on their website because it is banned for use in human foods due to liver toxicity.
