Yes well that's the problem my Vet (Sandu) said it was nothing to worry about... Dr Sing ( fill in) said it was a mass and I need to get it removed.

I will have to go in when my vet is there and see what he says.. once again. I swear like a year or so ago he said it was nothing to worry about-

Well maybe a year ago it didn't need to be removed or has changed. I can understand your frustration. My dog had some small growths on his head, my vet said to leave them, and I went to someone else and had them removed because I wanted them removed. Why keep them, they are better in a bottle than on his skin.

Ya.. I know. I just want to be told the truth- thats all, dont tell me its a mass or tumor if its a hernia..

Don't sweat it to much. Definitely talk with Dr. Sandu
and see what he has to say about it. If he now agrees
with the fill in vet then you may want to go get a third
opinion...

For your peace of mind I would get a third opinion for little Peanut. When Zoey had to have surgery for Legg Parthes I got three opinions before deciding which was to go.

Hi Kathy, hmm I'm not sure- sounds a tad different- if you look on the first page in the 2 nd picture you can see it.. its a little hard lump, hard like a bone but round. Doesn't move around, its in the middle of his tummy right under his ribs-

It looks like it could be the umbilical hernia- the skin in the area looks almost like he had some complicatiins almost.. maybe when he was a puppy??

Dh told me that Peanut has always had it, he told me we talked to the vet about it and it was nothing to worry about-

I feel like such a bad Mom bc I dont remember! I read that the umbillical hernias can come and go- sometimes they are out and visable and sometimes there aren't.

I dont know, I will find out more Monday- If it is the umbillical hernia you can get those removed but for the smaller ones I have read it wasnt needed-

I will have to talk to my Vet and maybe get a 3 rd opinion!

I surely didn't see this thread before now. Peanut, hope you aren't in pain. Even if it is an umbilical hernia, I would think it should be removed because I think they do continue to grow and can become painful. My memory needs refreshing on this one. I'll keep Mr. Peanut in my thoughts and prayers for a successful outcome whatever you do.

Thanks Karen! Thankfully Peanut isn't in any pain, it doesn't bother him at all! I will keep everyone updated on our progress!
