Senior Yorkie Talker | Does anything repel fleas? Gabby is on comfortis but fleas still get on her when she goes out to potty and they bite before they die. She's allergic and has itchy red spots all over her body. So I was wondering if there's anything that will keep from getting on her in the first place? I'm giving her the med the vet gave us for the allergies but that's not helping.

| You will have to treat your yard. We are using a product called Over and Out as well as diatomaceous earth (food grade). The Over and Out says it is for ants but it works great for fleas, too. We recently bought the diatomaceous earth after my husband came inside from our back yard, which we had not treated with Over and Out, and was covered in fleas up to his knees. He put the DE out and the fleas are gone!! It can also be used in carpet, under furniture, under cushions, etc....Good luck! Since we didn't have a "real" winter the pests are horrible this summer.

| I adore ArksNaturals Ark Naturals :: Flea & Tick I found it after I got Buddy my golden he is allergic to both fleas and ticks. His previous owner had a flea infestation. I hike a lot with him and live in a high deer tick area so tick repellent is a must. I like the Neem best.

| An herb called Penny Royal is a natural repellant. Make a tea of it and use that to spray on your pup. |

| I use Avon's Skin So Soft bath oil. I put a lil bit in his bath water and it's suppose to kill any fleas that is currently on him. Then you can use 5 pt water to 1 part oil in a spray pump. That will keep them off of him in between baths. I haven't had any issues with his scratching and his coat his beautifully shiny. Last edited by Onyxmomma; 07-30-2012 at 08:20 AM. |

| We just put a few drops of Lemongrass into a spray bottle; and (covering their eyes) gently mist it over their body. We plan to actually plant Lemongrass around the house as well next spring! |

| Lemongrass and any soap will kill live adult fleas if they are smothered in it. Otherthan that both arent a repellent
