But you never know they can do better on Acana- It is so hard – That is why I stayed with Acana for so long, and was willing to cut the kibble in half- just because Peanut is doing so well on it and I wasn’t about to find another food- Peanut has been on so many. NV, Blue Buffalo, Sold Gold, Wellness, so many!

I try to give Peanut a green bean or something healthy and he just looks at me like “ uhh this is not whip cream lady what is up with that”?? I know, I know horrible~~ No more!!!

I still feed treats and bully sticks in moderation. He does fine. Just as an FYI. Our vet was fine with this too.

I choose lower fat treats, and break them up into tiny pieces. Mainly Buddy Biscuits (the soft ones) and Zuke's. Buddy Biscuits just came out with a grainfree treat too! Bully sticks from bestbully have around 1% fat if I remember correctly so pretty low. They are also 12 calories per inch of stick, so a 12 inch stick is 144 cals (which Jax will never eat a whole one in a day). So I just feed accordingly.

Jackson's stomach scare was not from dog food- but consuming way too much fatty human foods (including chocolate cupcake lol) so I am not overly concerned but still just watch. He has still gotten the occasional bad human food that has dropped on the floor (not on purpose of course) and all has been fine, I just keep a closer eye, but accidents will happen. I think that one night it was just wayyy overload.

I would do that for Dolly but she INSISTS on eating only when she has a 'dinner partner'. She almost won't eat unless one of the others is there eating with her. (Silly, but I love her. ) And there is no way I could cut enough kibble peices in half to feed the entire crew at my house.

Yup I can take a pic - I have a bag of lamb & apple that he is on now, and then a bag of duck & pear unopened, I can take both... I am pretty sure they are the same size, but I forget!!

Lol, I know, Jackson will not TOUCH fruits & veggies. No way no how. Unless they are covered in meat....

It wasn't fed purposely... lol, unfortunately my dog is like a hoover vacuum and finds EVERYTHING on the floor.

IDK really. That's a good question. I do feel sometimes that they're getting bored at mealtime but that could be all in my head. Mostly I think it's just because I respect the company and the quality of the Champion Foods ingredients.

LoL "dinner partner" She sounds like a little ham!! How many babies do you have?

When I cut Peanut's I will pre-cut. I cut about a weeks worth. It really doesn't take me too long I just sit there on the couch and watch T.v and cut away-

I stole this tool from DH I guess they are electrical wire cutters LOL Work great.. One day he used them for the house, and I couldnt find them, I asked him where are Peanut cutters- and he knew what I was talking about LOL

My friend Lauren just lets her 4lb'er and 6lb'er eat it the way it is. They don't seem to have any issues, even Bandit with his teeth probs.

Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to try- Acana is so good I wouldn't see any harm in it. Maybe see if they can send you a sample to make sure your clan likes it?

LOL Oh yes, I think we have some wacky stories we do for our babies!! LOL it has happened before, DH's friend walks in the house and looks at me all confused- I said what? I am cutting Pnuts kibble in half LOL- Him and DH just snicker about it- I told them his mouth is tiny it would be like you eating a big jawbreaker!!

I noticed Peanut didn't eat as much as he should, then I started to cut it and chomping down~

I've done stranger things for these little ones.

None of my others have any problems eating even larger sized kibble, even Hudson who's only 1/2 pound bigger than Dolly who is just under 3 pounds. She just has to be a diva!
